Newby from Central queensland

Newby from Central queensland

Postby wenabri on Mon, 05 Apr 2010 6:38 +0000

Hi all,
Have had the Lux for about a month, have already had a major problem, the better half wants the truck all time (having trouble getting my bum in the seat). We owned a 94 dual cab 2.4 diesel about 8 years ago, but this new one is something else. Will get some photo's soon, I may have to get square eyes to read all the posts here, but so far very informative.

Cheers for now

Hi Ox man
A little place called Yeppoon just north of Rockhampton, right on the coast. I came here in 67 as an eleven year old, got married and never left. I still wake up every morning thinking I am on Holidays.

Hi Ox Man,
I have not replied to your question about Stockyard point because I have never been there by road only by sea, and also I was reading the post about injectors and got a little worried as the lux I have just brought had two replaced at 70k. The reason I got concerned is because the last vehical I owned had 55k on it(purchased new from HYUNDIA) had a failure of the high pressure fuel pump. Resulting in a complete new system fitted under waranty (3 months left). So I traded it and brought this one, and reading some of the posts is a real worry. But then I figured the Lux now has 120k on it and all is fine so far.I can verify that the camp ground at Byfield itself is very good and well maintained. Lots of walks, a general store with great burgers and fuel.

Brian,
no dramas at all mate, I was one of the unlucky ones. 120,000kms aint bad, just do the standar thing, watch you fuel consumption, and don;t be affraid to ask the question at toyota.

As for Byfield, you should make the trip ;)

Cheers,
