Hey all,

I'm Matt from Tas.

Just started the search for a new Hilux, aiming for 98-02 Turbo Diesel or V6.

Probably wasn't a good idea to start browsing your garages as my budget is fairly well set but all the trucks that appeal to me are 06's onwards!!!

Anyway, got some more searching to do so I'll be off!!

Hi Mat, welcome aboard. The new Hilux start in o5 not 06 (should be cheaper for a 05)
Beware a test drive will have you hooked

I couldn't find any think of quality and cheap in tasi, ended up going to the mainland.

I saw a few gems at Co-Op Toyota in North Hobart a few weeks back, best thing about tassie cars is the low K's.
I saw a few 'workmates' 2007, 2008 with less than 10K on the clock, couldn't get that on the mainland...

Its on the Midlands Highway 1/3 way up to Launceston. There's a sign "Highest Point on Highway"

Yeah you're right 05 it is.

I've been looking on the auction sites, anyone know what an 05+ would go for at an auction?

I've seen some fixed price vehicles for around 21k on some auction sites, could an actual auction go much cheaper?
