HEY all just got my new 09 dual cab sr 4x4 lux.fitted it with canopy, nudge and spotties rest will come later as its more of a work truck thanks to the gov rebate. last hilux was 10 yr ago and it was a modded 84 single cab 4x4. been into some pretty hard core 4bying with GQ and GU patrols but need something that covers all bases, work family and recreation. enter the lux. wasnt going to skimp as i could of got a lot more for less in other makes but i know toyota builds good machines and looks after the customer........by chance i stumbled across this site so im off to do some reading :D

id say. stayed up late looking at what every one else has done and getting some tech ideas. would like to lift it and put slightly bigger bags on it but its a work truck first so getting in and out of the back is handy so it will probably only get some wheels and allterrains about the same size as whats on it.

Best bet if you can get onto them is to get some SR5 Rims and put some 31x10.5" AT's on it. That is a good combination but if you have to buy rims you'll need to get 16"x7" rims with +20mm or so offset to clear the calipers. Ryan at Fourbys in Moorooka is the guy to see for tyres up here....

Not quite sure of the tyre size to run but somewhere aound 30.5 to 31's without upgrading the suspension. I have 32's (265/75 R16's) but started off with the SR5 rims and 31x10.5's which were a nice combo but I added the flares from Utemart very quickly!
