1996 diesel hilux engine

Hi,

I have a 96 model diesel hilux which needs the engine bebuilt, its gonna cost about $7000. where can i find a reconditioned motor, and also what model of motor is it?

1996 would probably be the LN106 with the 3L 2.8 litre naturally aspirated engine.

I would give some toyota dealers a call , The was selling crate motors i brought one a few years ago for $4k brand new with 12 months warranty , it was a 3l ( 2.8 ) for a 1995 model . the dealer was ballarat toyota in vic

good stuff sir brandnew 3l engine at 4th k, hope we can buy this also here in phil. al we get is surplus engines at maybe $3th value

look on ebay there is a bloke on there from melbourn with fully recon motors from under 4k
