Took a trip up to Lakefield National Park over the weekend for a bit of a fish and to get out of the city. Was a very comfortable trip, from Lakeland things started to get abit more interesting when we finally hit the dirt (I hate highway driving). We decided to stay at Kalpowar Crossing as we didnt want to head to far up for a 2 night trip. We got to the campsite around 5pm and left about 5am sunday morning so we could fish all the spots on the way home.
We found the decent size barra just wernt on the bite. We ended up getting around 15 barra but all around the 30cm mark.
Next trip ill be goin up further towards the salt to give the fishing up there ago.
Just down from the crossing
Walking the banks as we had no boat
Bit of wildlife
Freshwater croc
Waterhole
Stopping for a feed
