Toddies is low as they can go. They were never designed to have a solid axle so there isn't alot of clearance under the sump. Most soild axle trucks the chassis will step up over the axle were ifs trucks are flat, that is were the issue is.

So you pretty much "have" to run massive lift to make sure you clear everything?

No, mine clears everything. But it's as low as you can go without running into clearance problems (sump) ect

As in the diff hitting the sump on compression?

So with live axle trucks like patrols and 80's it would be beneficial to do body lift just not with our 'straight' chassis over the axle?

here are some comparisons but my best guess would be 4-5" and tires
Max's, Alex's, Toddies, mine...
I think toddies was still leaf rear then but the front stayed at the same height and its on 33's in this photo, I changed to the same springs as toddie now

Personally I would try and avoid a body lift on any car especially if you have a flexy rear, if your car flexes nice in the rear the front will tend to follow it giving you your unwanted cab angles, if that makes sense

I meant it can be beneficial on ifs trucks to allow bigger tyres and less suspension lift if you want a high truck, most solid axle trucks don't need a BL

Yeah good question boys, I'll get some guard measurements and roof height when I get the truck back!

Couple pics of the finished product, really happy with the outcome, not to much different to the old tray.
suits sides, 50mm lower, wider and longer

Well here's a crappy pic of the new tray painted. Turned out real nice, not much different to the old one, will just suit what I have planned for camping trips being wider, longer and to suit sides, still waiting on sides.
Image

The front end is now fully overhauled! New bearing, new spindles, all new seals and gaskets. Changed front diff oil and glad I did, dropped about 100mm of water out of it!! So wasn't to happy about that and this deffently would not of helped

So just need to replace the breather fitting and pull the snapped bolt out.

Also changed the gearbox & transfer oils, much smoother threw the gears now
