Thanks Johnny :)

Guys as you probably already have discovered, I can't explain how good it is having a 4wd, you realise there is so much more to life getting outdoors and exploring. I already realised this a long time ago as I am a bit outdoors type a person, but just to be able to do it whenever I want now with my own car is just awesome. I love it.

As mentioned earlier I think, my girlfriend's dad just bought 900 acres so we've gone out there a fair bit which has been great fun... its a mission to get there though.

Thanks Ben :)

Nah mate its not too bad, a bit of a pain when you forget the motorbike ramp though like I did when I had it out there on the weekend

That's no good you gotta get the recall done! Mine is may 2010.

Definitely sounds good to go for a drive. See you on Thursday night to give you a test drive of mine!

Mine is Feb build. Part of the reason i had issues chassing down a blue one was when i was looking there were only 8 available around the state in that series. Not many local. At end of day i found one that had stock and went with it at the right price. Had 2 deallers pull out and Penrith wouldnt match my best price.

Haven't updated this in a while.

I had my first bog experience on the weekend, damn what a mission it was to get the damn thing out haha.

I was just driving along on the top of a grass hill on the farm, hoping to pull out my girlfriends dad who was also stuck further down. I turned slightly, driving very carefully and too late car sunk down about 2 foot.

So with two ute's stuck about 100m apart on land that is unpredictably soft, we go back and get the tractor. This time taking more care. We joined two lots of chains, a snatch strap and some wire as we couldn't get the tractor any closer. After a few hours we got them both out, it was a lot of work. It involved digging and placing logs in the ruts etc too.

Pictures will do some more talking...

Hey Guys,

Yeah was an interesting experience! The finish on the tomohawks is starting to become a bit scratched but they're always dirty mate so it's not really noticeable!

What happened to the strap?
The strap was put on incorrectly I am guessing. My girlfriends dad wrapped it around itself on the top of the rear spring leaf, didn't look like the best spot to me but I didn't know any better

Anyone care to shed some light on a recovery point on the rear without a towbar?

I must admit, I keep reading it's not good practise to recover from a tow bar, yet I see many posts of people using the tow bar as a recovery point? Can someone please clarify...

My situation is, I don't have a tow bar. So whats the best thing to do?

Tow bar is ok with the towball and tounge removed and a rated recovery hitch put in it's place and then fasten your recovery from that point.

Nil mate, you need a towbar or replace the rear step with an aftermarket one or fab one yourself
