In other lux news, i have a few bits and pieces waiting to go into the old girl if i ever find the time to get off me ass and do something about it. Got the dual battery tray installed, just a matter of running the cables and connecting it all up. And got these sway bar disconnects of Scott probably about 5 months ago :? will hopefully get them in soon.

thats my 1/8 educated stab at explaining it anyways

Interesting.....cheers for the insight.

alright did some actual research ad found that it is a common mod on performance cars to bypass it as it works as a dampner as i said before and therefore slightly reduces the time it takes for the clutch to engage and disengage, its designed to slow and smooth the clutch actuation so you dont "drop the clutch" as easily...rest easy Marshwa, its not gonna be detrimental bypassing it

Marshwa's Build - Sway Bar Disconnects

Postby Marshwa on Mon, 23 Apr 2012 11:34 +0000

Well finally had a pretty quiet weekend and got around to fitting the next bits in the lux, some of Scott's sway bar "disconnects" if that's what there called. Real easy to install took around 2 hours if that and was real impressed with them. Work great giving a little more flex in the front and doesn't make that much difference on road even without the pins not in.

Will let the pics do the talking:

That's nearly exactly what I want to do to mine! How much all up roughly did it cost?
Cheers

Marshwa that sway bar looks like it is rubbing on the front springs big time with sway bar disconects. :o

Kirpy at a rough estimate I've probably dropped between 10-15k into the lux to get it where it is now.

Josh that paint off the spring was done when i originally installed the suspension. I put the sway bar back in too far to the right and that why it was hitting. Have fixed it up and re-centered it and since then and it no longer hits.

Just to let you know my mechanic bypassed the clutch dampner also. The dodgy mob that replaced my clutch when it went cross threaded the lines into the dampner. The slave cylinder gave up not long after the HD clutch went in and my mechanic had trouble getting pressure in the line so just bypassed the dampner to remove the problem. Runs fine...
