lifting the lux

well i thought i would post up some pics of my lux as stock and then after it gets a few mods added to it.
with measurements so others can see what is achievable.
at the mo it has a tjm winch bar and ox winch on the front so a little bit of weight allready.
and at the back is a trayback with constant load of tools .
mods to be done are : tjm steel side steps
: body lift
: suspension lift
: bigger tyres

under rear diff 220mm ( toyota au quotes - 292mm - ) so not sure where they get this from????
rear leaves , fairly straight
under rail of trayback near rear wheel 818mm
under side steps 325mm
underneath front guard 825mm
under front diff 200mm
(all measured from the ground)

feel free to add your own pics and numbers to compare what different set ups get as results. :)

now to figure out how to put pics on here ???

Hi mate, nice pics. A good suspension lift and new rubber will really help you out a lot. But you sure are doing it the right way by getting your accessories on first. Just a bit of advice, when you are measuring heights like to the rear tray or to the front guards- measure from the centre of the wheel hub to the guard (or bottom of the tray). This just helps with keeping your measurements consistent regardless of tyre size or pressure.

This would be a good comparison thread IMO with a template for all to follow......something like -

Clearances

Front Diff Centre -->

Rear Diff Centre -->

Front Lift (Hub Centre to Guard) -->

Rear Lift (Hub Centre to Guard) -->

Tyre Size -->

Then everyone can cut and paste the template and add their figures beside them and we'd have a good database of what sort of clearances members have with what tyres and the lack...atleast it would be a one stop reference point for all to compare and then members could ask questions accordingly to whichever members stats they are interested in.

So what do you guys reckon?

Luxury.....if you could post your measurements as per template above as a basis point for all other to compare to since your truck is stock, it would be greatly appreciated. :mrgreen:

I just went outside and got the measuring tape out and here are my measurements......... :ugeek:

Front Diff Centre --> 35cm exactly

Rear Diff Centre --> 27cm exactly

Front Lift (Hub Centre to Guard) --> 57cm

Rear Lift (Hub Centre to Guard) --> 61cm

Tyre Size --> 285/75x16's.....bout 55% worn atleast.

Edit: Luxury, just comparing your stats and mine, it seems that you've lost a good inch of lift up front to the bar and winch.

Also, going by your rear diff it is exactly right.....29" stock compared to 33" on mine gives you a 2" difference under the diff.

Now for others to chime in :geek:

Front Diff Centre --> 200

Rear Diff Centre --> 225

Front Lift (Hub Centre to Guard) -->480

Rear Lift (Hub Centre to Guard) -->475 ( to tiedown rail)

Tyre Size -->[/quote] 205 r16

re measured from centre of hub for better comparison :)

this might be a stupid question but wouldnt you have been better of waiting for the body lift before you did the sliders??

the sliders were part or the deal when i bought the truck. before i even new of the bodylift.
shouldnt take much to modify them though. will get them done at same time as bullbar.

i had to send an application in with details of the lift kit etc.cost nothing for that. just have to pay for engineer to certify it once installed.
