Freeze,

Wow... you wheel in some really awesome locations.
Very nice indeed!

How is your truck going... looks great with the mini cage and rooftop tent.

Now that you've had the suspension on for a while, what are your impressions?
Would you do anything different if you had your time again?

Cheers

Hey thank you Matt!

I'm really quite impressed with the suspension set up. The front LT is pretty amazing and it brings the IFS setup closer to what an SA Toyota feels like.

This is my other mistress :D

I did add an OME rear HD AAL to the All-Pro 3" pack for more load carrying. Ride comfort is still the same but the rear can carry more weight without sagging out.

I'd definitely do it again... the other option was to go with 80 series axle and transfercase but with the LT kit i'm pretty happy where it is.

Hey nice work there Max... thank you!

Hey Freeze,

I like your "other mistress" !

Looks like a 82/83 model Hilux.
I had a 84... What a truck.
Looks like you have a pretty beefy set up on the old girl... Very nice indeed.

I really like the rooftop tent set up you have there... Is it practical?
Does much rain get under the tent into the tub?
I'm thinking of doing something similar with my truck, mount the tent just high enough so my fridge will slide under it.

Love those wheels as well... What are they?

Cheers

Yeah it's an 81 Hilux! I really love driving it but not as practical as the Tacoma at times :D

Right on the 84 is also a nice body style.

She's equipped with everything Marlin underside. Great little Toyota!

The RTT on the Tacoma works really well as it dropped 200LBS from using it onto topper. Also lowered the COG by 1.5ft while being able to look out the back window.

The cargo in the bed does get damp but I use waterproof bags.

The wheels are from RockMonster (Hutchinson). They're a two piece beadlock similar to the Hummer H1 beadlock (Same company).

Marlin makes great gear... One of the nicest guys I have ever met as well.

I'm going to copy your RTT cage!
I love the fact that it keeps the COG lower, plus the ability to look out the back is a bonus as opposed to mounting it directly on the top of the tub sides.

I'm going to run a full length drawer down the passenger side, and a full length slide on the drivers side.
My fridge will live on the back of the slide on the drivers side. Behind that will go some water and dust proof space cases for camping gear etc.

I'm thinking of replacing my tubliner with a Rhino spray on liner... but they aren't cheap.

Thanks for some good inspiration and advice!

Ripper, it's such a practical design.

Bring on the Half cages... it will be new trend in touring machines!
