crosssport's build up

Postby crosssport on Mon, 22 Jun 2009 1:45 +0000

Well been on the forum for a while now and just never seemed to find the time to do a build up thread. So now that I finally have a bit of spare time here is a run down on my lux so far and things to come.

2008 Toyota Hilux SR5 Dual cab Facelift model
D4D Manual
Dead stock form:

Before even picking the lux up I had the genuine tyres replaced with these:
Image
Also added was a little breathing aid:
Image
Then came the ARB Deluxe Bull Bar, Magnum Winch and Nite Workz HID driving lights ( From AED )
Image
Image
And for entertaiment, communications, navigation and to stay on the right side of the law I had these fitted:
Eclipse AVN6000 with reverse camera and Ipod in glove box, Alpine roof mount DVD connected through to Dash unit, parrot blue tooth mobile hands free kit and gme uhf radio
Image
Image
Then came the ARB rear step towbar and Razorback canopy
Image
In the tub outback roller drawers and fridge drop slide fitted and fridge power supply.
Image
And here she sits on the move from North W.A to Albury N.S.W
Image
So now I have been here for a few months and things have all settled down after the move it's time to complete the rest of the planned mods. They include fitting this: :D
Image
Once the steinbauer is fitted then the humex exhaust system.
Suspension upgrade, 2 or 3 inch lift
Custom side steps
Skog's miracle diff breathers
And a set of 16x8 wheels and tyres, unsure of what tyres yet but maybe the dick cepek FC-2 again as they are a great tyre but in a 265/75/16.
These are the wheels:

So there you go, finally a bit on my build up.
Shane

Hey MMaaxx what do you think it would look like with the TRD wheels on it? Looking at a set at the minute.
Just after what you guys think of the idea or should I stick to the 16's that I found?

X2

TRD rims cost an arm and a leg, you'll be able to get a whole set of aftermarket rims for the price of one genuine TRD rim...not worth it at all!

Plus the 16's will ride better...smoother. more sidewall.

TRD wheels approx $1500+ freight for a set of four with tyres, price seems pretty good. Looking at over the 2k mark for aftermarket 16 inch wheels and tyres.
Wouldn't think ride would be much different as the tyres are 265/65/17 and if going 16's I would be hoping to fit 265/70/16 or 265/75/16.
Well which way do I go :?

up to you mate....its your money....personally I dont like the look of TRD wheels, but if you want the 17" size then go for it.....Id be only going 17's if I was gonna be getting big brakes down the track.

your call mate.

You want input or imput?
The wheels you posted up yesterday will look very very good on your 'lux.
I don't think I've seen them before but it's a one horse race between them and the TRD rims.

Nice going on the build up thus far.

Shane..
I like the 16's over the TRD 17's. If your asking for opinions... :)
Either way mate it would look great regardless.
Cheers
