I would rather do it myself...then again, I like the ebay idea, there is an idiot born every minute, so at $50 a pop I am sure there is profit in them there internet...

I detail cars and am anal rententive, it will get dirty and scratched like my Patrol...but then I will have to fix it...

Well, took the truck out to Kilcoy for a bit of a drive and camping with a hired camper trailer. Seems I now definitely want an exhaust, any pointers for those whom have them on??

Also, as of today the truck is in at ARB getting all the gear put on, took the sports bar off last night so 1 less thing to pick up...so hopefully I get it back Thursday as I have to go to Sydney for racing on Friday...

Closer to home by the sound of it if you are driving round Kilcoy is Beaudesert Exhausts. They ship Australia wide

Well its been a while since I updatd this...so I updated my shed and thought I may as well update this.

Got all the gear finally on, its already had a dent taken out thanks to all things a Drugo driver on the way home and not an incident offroad.

Planning for the Cape in Mod 2011, so need to get a couple of more things before then. Have to re-save after smashing my gearbox in the Mazda and having to replace quite a few things as a result...but thats life and modifying cars.

So here are some update pictures!!

doubt it, been there with no side steps in a stock cruiser. Unless you go looking for tough tracks you'll be fine. The actual track to the cape isn't very challenging at all (unless you make it), bit of a let down really, to me

Looking good, I was getting mine ready for a cape trip next year, but the Mrs decided to start a family and now my plans have been put back. Good luck with it.

Been out in the Mazda latley, My subie hasn't been out much lately it just been a drive car for the mrs so its probably got some cob webs uunder the wheels.

Have you been to the drags in it? Any idea of a time??

I took it to Jambo last year after driving non-stop from Sydney from a Time Attack meet at Eastern Creek where we blew 4th gear in the Evo, then had the trailer flog a bearing at Kempsie, which meant I left my mate and his car in Kempsie and drove through the night to race.

Best time so far is 13.54@99mph with 1.6 60ft, it was also cutting out in the top end, thus the low MPH for a decent time, which was later traced to a split earth, but after the box going to hell there was no point in running any more. It should run a high 12, not bad for 300hp at the wheels and a highlfowed std turbo. When the weather cools down and I fix the radiator issue I have at the moment I will be back at Willowbank for sure.

I have also got a Kaaz diff for it and put some new Mirrors on, some Bride Seats and my Sabelt harnesses to go in (not legal for street), which are all mod plated.

As it stands now (before mirrors and seats)

My Missus is actually the one who wants to do the Cape and the friends who want to go with are about to start a family, we are a way off from that...

yea 13.5 sounds slow for 300hp, iv got 165kw at all 4 wheels and i did a 13.7 in full street kit a couple of months ago, not bad for a family wagon ( forester ) with stock turbo.

Dont worry you'll have an awesome time at the cape, im sure of it

Hey Bob, your Lux is looking real sweet. Very shiny but a bit of Cape dust will fix that
As Marsha said the Cape tracks are pretty docile unless you go looking for action 8-) I think the river crossings are your biggest threat up there.

I like your RX7, I used to have a ported Series 2 back in the Alan Moffit and Barry Jones days, had an RX3 before that, I used to love the rotories.
On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

Holly Moly its been a while,

I thought it a good time to post up an update, seeing as alot has happened in this last year...

Life summation: missus of 8 years took off and moved in with some bloke at the Gold Coast, put my new best mate a 10 month old staffy to sleep due to illness, moved house and now live by myself after a few house mates came and went, did not sell the other house as the market took a beating so still have to talk to the ex, the new missus is awesome, and still managed to mod the lux and the Mazda...

OK, enough dribble, updates to the Hilux:

1. Buddy Sliders
2. Buddy Front bash plates.
3. 4wd terrain front recovery points
4. Rhino Roof Racks (for trips only)
5. Put on a 3inch Mandrel Bent exhaust
6. Rear Seat Mod finally done
7. Front and rear diff breathers

Finally took it to my favourite place on Earth, Fraser. Went fishing with some mates. Rained the first day and perfect for the rest. Did not catch squat, but that may have been due to excessive brown ale consumption. In the photo there are 35 x 30can XX Gold/Heavy and Tooheys in the back with an 80L Engel also full of beer, an esky full of bait, a generator and all the bread, chips and packet food for a week.

Oh and the Mazda got a new gearbox and clutch, the front end resprayed, a new set of wheels that are the final set, Enkie GTC01's 18x8.5 front with 235 tyres and rear 18x9.5 running 265 tyres, new coilovers, new Bride seats, new Harnesses as the others expired...oh and it cracked a 12.3 at about 113mph...seems the issue was an earth and a waste gate spring was fubar and thus the computer was kicking in with boost AND engine cut...
