Love the rims...

How do the 33x12.5 go on a 17x8 rim? The specs for that tyre recommend at least an 8.5 wide rim :?

I have the same tyres, but looking for a second set of rims, and keep the first for road tyres.... 8-)

Sooooo....Ryano reckons I have some expectation to live up to and 33s on a vehicle that basically runs 32s from the factory aint going to cut it. So the FJC ended up rolling on some temp 35" all terrains to see how bad the gearing and fitment would be. They fitted much better then we expected with minimal scrubbing so far just on some of the plastics. Gearing seems more then bearable so far too. Plan is to keep running the BFG all terrains till Cooper bring out the ST max in a 35" for 17s.

King install went pretty well in the end. Had to remove the front coilovers after the first install to adjust them a bit higher. At first we thought the drivers side remote res bracket wasn't going to work, but after some adjustment of the hard power steer lines Ryano got it to work. Also a little trickey to get the remote res hoses away from the upper control arm, but thats all sorted now. The ride is firmer then stock, but all in a good way. Handles corners a lot better and doesn't nose dive as much. Hit some speed bumps with a little pace and it soaked them up nicely.

I forgot to get a overall pic of the front install without the tyre on. Will get a better pic of the front soon.

Did you source the progressive rear springs through Down South Motor Sports or someone else?

Rear coils are 3" slinky coils from Autocraft. They ahve come up around 4" but since I dont have a lot of weight in the back yet.

Starting to get used to the 35s already, and think I agre the 33s would have looked too small.

Haven't actually flexed it up yet as I have to extend the rear bump stops for the rear shock length, so will suss all that out then. This kit has been out in the USA for a while and I havent read any reports of rubbing on the remote res's with the tyres.

Its a pretty common thing for 12.5's to be mounted on 8" wide wheels even thought the manufactures recomend a minimum of 8" wide wheels.

Way better then expected. Can bearly notice it when taking off, but it was kicking down more on inclines coming home on the highway. I can definetley live with it for a few years before spending the coin to do the gearing.

Bits and pieces, yeah.

Cheers mate. The ones fitted are 315/70R17 BFG All Terrains. 34.4" dia, 12.7" section width, 10.4" tread width. I have no rubbing on the upper control arm with the 8" wide 0 offset rim. Only just hits the bodymount too.

Just ordered 315/70R17 MTZs (34.6" dia., 11.9" section width, 9.8" tread width). Which should fit just as good.

Looks sensational Twisty. A bit soft on all terrains but will be sick as on muddies.

You making a front bar?

Where is your hilux bar. I wants it!
