so with what you said about lockers mmaxx, with them breaking if you have lockers on and turning the vechile, is there much point in getting twin lockers for a nex lux!
like of you have them on and you hit a rock that suddenly jolts the front tyres theres a greater chance of doing the cv's..

Or should you just hit up a rear locker and hope that does you?

I "use" my front lockers.... no CV's yet..... just dont go to extreme in turning... as mentioned... the sand grabbed it and snapped it full lock and thats more the issue... less than 1 full turn is fine IMO.... But if you dont know me and how I drive, take that with a grain of salt...

I've just fitted a rear ARB jobbie myself, not that hard really (stay tuned for a post on 'how to' with pics soon) and found it to be great. Can't wait till after christmas when I'll have time to fit up the front one I have sitting in the shed for it. :) :D :)

I don't want to highjack the thread sorry Drew - but is this why an auto locker on the front has an advantage?

Programming may resume as normal :D Congrats on the shoot mate, it's a great unit :!:

Mate I believe there is a locker thread here somewhere regarding that, every forum seems to have one  but imo yes that is one of the major advantages to an auto on an IFS

No worries whitey. Yeh the front is fine in the lux just remember not to load up the cvs too much.

Mine broke because i was in 2nd low range foot to the floor, and when the sand grabed it, it actualy turned it past full lock and pushed the tyre into the sway bar, which made it bite and with no give in the diff the cv snapped. Just a split second, reefed the steerign wheel out of my hands and it was all she wrote lol

An auto in the rear would be a similar feeling to a good lsd i think but personaly i wouldnt put one in the front might make the steering unpredictable. Just my opinion.

Thanks Drew - the manual-ness of the air locker is the real attraction for me, good to know it was just a 'bugger' moment.

Can't wait to see the pics.

The eye bolts wer expensive because they are rhino rack genuine bolts but they are worth it i think for their strength and they double as tie down points.
