Just have to send em off. I didnt think to check if the passenger side was up on the bump stop or of it had more room to go but id say it would have been from looking at it in the driveway.

If you enter driveways or hit bumps off road, put pressure on those wheels, I guarantee that they will start hitting the mud flat. Most of us with 32s have taken the mudflaps off and moulded the inner guards as well as flattening the body seal behind the guard to gain some extra room. If you haven't already you will need to do this.

Actually I have just realise that those picsa are for the rear so they will be fine. I am talking about the front.

I am Interested in this Smithy seeing I just went to the same size tyre as you are running. I've got plenty of clearance behind and the minimum clearance to the mud flap when turning is 25mm. I think there is something we have not cottoned onto with this stuff yet. Ryano at Fourbys said he wanted to add more caster to my setup before he did the weel alignment. To do this, the bottom of the wheel has to move forward so the contact point with the ground is in front of the hub. I have a lot less clearance at the lead edge of the UCA on full lock than others based on some pics I've looked at. I'm beginning to think the wheel alignment might have quite an impact on this stuff and maybe because Fourby's are a specialist 4WD tyre shop they set the truck up better than what an average tyre shop would. I can't see how I will ever need to remove the mudflap (other than to put a wider one on which I think would be a good idea!).

You are usually on full lock at low speed, so the minimal clearance on the UCA is not such an issue.

Yeh smithy those pics were of the rear i will hopefully get some pics of the front in action soon. I had to heat and flatten the inner plastic guard trim the factory flare and cut and the body mount and weld a new plate on the leading edge to make it 3/4 of an inch thiner so the tyres cleared but now i have clearance lock to lock and thru articulation. I did remove the front mudflap but as you said it was just to make it wider to stop too much crap flying up the doors.

Its true what you said rod about the wheel alignment, after i had mine done i had heaps of room on the drivers side but next to none on the left. But now after another one its not too bad.

Yeh quinny i noticed you said your was $100 so thats what i was expecting. But he did say they had a special on them atm.
I was going to wait untill i fitted my 2nd batt but thought what the hell i'll just move it later.

Im still tossing up weather to fit the piranah set up i have out of my last truck or getting the tjm ibs dual batt system. I like the idear of being able to "link" the 2 batts for winching and starting if i drail the main batt with just the push of a button.

Have a look on your old isolator and see if there is a spare wire coming off it. It might just be the link switch wire. Even the Super Cheap version has this feature.. Maybe check the web site to see if Piranah have some tech info about your controller to sort it out.

I am itching towards the Delphi filter.

Seems that many here have installed this Delphi 296 filter and to date no one has complained of it failing or giving problems.

Anyone have any literature on the Delphi 296 filter specifications?
Cheers

Those Delphi's would have to be the most common fuel filter in Aust.
Been around forever and used to come fitted as std. on older machinery, trucks and stationery engines. There are quite a few models in the range with integrated primers, twin elements, glass bowls or steel plates all being available. They have been known by a few names though. Try searching for CAV or 296-711.
The biggest problem with them, apart from the glass bowl breaking which is probably not going to happen to a street driven Hilux :) , is sealing them properly when you change the element. There is a top and bottom o-ring on the element itself plus 2 more smaller ones.
This is why I want to run a Racor. Just need to work out the correct size.

Yeh bull they guy where i got mine said to make sure i replace ALL the o rings when i replace the filter. They go thru so many of them here with the mines which is prob why i got a good price. Yeh they had plenty of diff sorts, ones with steel bowls and ones with hand pumps but because we r running it as a 2nd filter we just need the most basic setup.

As long as you dont over tighten it or have a rock hit it the glass bowl will be fine.

rod, i will check it out but im prety sure it dosent have it just the port for the in cab monitor and the solar pannel imput.

just a not from quinnys build thread with the height, i measured it today and wow im sitting at 810mm from the bottom of the 16in rim to the bottom of the flare. Done 10,000kms with it like that so far and all is still good. Both cv boots are rubbing as you can see in the pics but it dosent seem to be too bad, juts rubbing the dirt off it for the moment.

Well finaly got the battery tray in and managed to fit the coupler tec next to the injector driver, so now i just have to make a bracket to get the delphi, the realays for the trailer wiring and the piranah system on it. Also bit the bullet and bought a compressor so will have to find some space for it..... hopefully on the drivers side near the abs controler.

Hopefully il get my humex exhaust this week care of shane (crossport) and my rear shocks back from wizard and will be close to ready for my trip at the end of the mth.

Looking good Drew... I know how quickly you run out of space under the hood... and I havenet even got the second battery in there yet!!

Gotta admit though, I love that new ARB compressor... did yours come with the cut of switch to stop the compressor when its not pumping air?
