I have buggered a few.. usually just the bearing, but the belt needs to come off which is a bit of a fidely job in the 6.. not sure about the oiler though

Keep an eye on the top section of the rollbar as plastidip doesn't like sun very much, my wheels faded after around 2-3months (parked outside though).

Heaps good build and a proper good truck.

Mate, how's the plastidip holding up after a few months? I'm looking to do the same but a little worried the Qld sun will fade it...

I was going to, but i'd prob just chip all the plasti-dip off pretty quick. They're only on there so the mrs can still get into the car... I'll replace them soon.

hey jaybags, I have a stebel horn like yours, mounted in almost the same spot too. been on there for about 2 years now, maybe more. only prob is they dont like water/dirt and the original wiring job was crap (useless auto-sparky)

Wear is still good, they still look fairly new after 10,000ks. Can grab a pic for ya soon.

Off road they handled really well, didn't let me down once through any mud patches, but I havn't been in any serious mud situations with them yet. Also had quite a bit of grip on rocky terrain.

On road they handle really well, 100 times better than stock. If I want to, I can still spin the wheels, but the car doesn't just want to kick out sideways in the wet anymore, so it's safe for the mrs to drive. They're pretty quiet considering too, have a slight bit of noise, but nothing you'd get from a proper muddy. Def recommend em.

Did you get much use out of it? Mine's already paid itself off with how much i've had to use it.. I don't know what's wrong with people these days, they just pull out everywhere without looking

The wiring is probably better than my skills at least..

Headed out with Nick (derchie), Jake and Max yesterday to Toolangi.
Def an awesome day, great bunch of guys to go wheeling with.

I was a little nervous i'd hold them up a lot of the day on ATz, and no winch or lockers, but managed to get up everything.

First few tracks were pretty gnarly, Max got up the hardest route with ease, I on the otherhand took the easy option which still had me stuck at one slipper point. But with the help of Nick, he spotted me and got me up and out pretty easily.

We hit some awesome tracks, some completely overgrown and felt like we were driving through a car wash, some pretty scary and had me going through jocks pretty quickly.

One part Nick was leading, we were climbing up a steep clay hill which got very slippery very quick. Nick was yelling out on the radio for us to not continue up.. as he tried keeping his vehicle from sliding into a massive rut.
Max and Jake crawled through it with their lockers, and were trying to come up with a plan for me to get through up. My options were either try reverse back down (and possibly slide straight into a tree), or give it the berries and go for it from my run up. They were contemplating setting up all the winches and getting a rig ready too.
Of coarse, I went for it... floored it all the way up, hoping not to slide off into the rut, and made it up perfectly! Was stoked, but my butt cheeks were a little tense after it...

It's also safe to say, my side steps don't like being straight, apparently.

Jakes sticky situation... had was forced to detour a track half way down due to a bunch of trees fallen, getting him back on track was a little difficult. Had 3 of us on the side adding some extra weight to keep it from rolling and built up a step section for him to drive up on

Small update.

Haven't really done much. Need to re-stick the tail gate tub-liner... heavy rain put too much weight on the tonneau, and caused it the tub-liner pull away from the sikaflex. Wonder if there's anything stronger?

Also found out I need a new antenna base for the arial, it still works but I only get about 2-3k's range on it now. Going to organise that soon.

Everything else has been put on the backburner, trying to save for a house and get of out the rent trap.
On another note though, I am getting another extra shortly.. just debating on which to get first. Recommendations?

It's either Snorkel, Winch or Sliders.
I keep bending up my side-steps, and it's only a matter of time before they bend too far into the sills.
Snorkel would be handy, especially for any more high-country trips.

So far leaning towards sliders... thoughts?

I completely missed it, was half asleep when I originally read that.

Sliders are prob the wise choice then hey, the last reshape of the steps were pretty bloody close to my sills, don't even want to think about the repair cost
