Hi Toylux

I had the same problem with my number plate as well with my high mount & xrox. I ended up getting the shits and drilling through the middle of the plate & mounting above fairlead. Couldn't think of anywhere else to put it. Mine is an 05 with some battle scars so I'm not too fussed about it. The winch and spotties take your attention away from plate n my case.

That's awesome mate, the high-mount sits in there beautifully, so it looks like it's recessed into the grill about half way also?
When are the Muddy's goin on?

Thanks Jake

It's only about a third of the winch sticking through, you have to lift the bonnet to access the free spool, but never do that as I have a 6hp motor, so it's plenty quick enough to reel rope out under power.

BFG KM2's, 285/70/17 are already fitted just haven't taken any photos yet

Nah Max I trimmed the inside so I had a flat surface to bolt the winch up to. Then I added a piece of 6mm to the front. So where the winch mounts is now 11mm thick.

Well today when I got out of bed I decided it was time to do a Body Mount Chop.

After some research on here I decided to go with the amitch888 style, factory look. Thanks Mitch

Start buy removing the body mount bush.

Trimmed out the unwanted material

Welded it all together and then ground it to hide the welding.

Gave it a coat of paint and it now looks unmodified and factory

Also fitted my Quattro elite 35w, 4300k HID driving lights excellent lights shine 1.3klmImage

And fitted my Piranha dual battery monitor Image

And here are some pics of other upgrades that I have done but haven't gotten round to adding to my build thread

We should plan something, but it won't be until I'm back from my trip to Tuff Truck and Vic high country on the way back down.

When you relocating back to Australia :D

I didn't end up using the piranha, I sold it and purchased a CTEK 250s, all the positive comments on here made me change to the CTEK. because the Hilux alternator doesn't put out high enough volts to keep up with the dual battery's,where the CTEK boosts the out put into the second battery to 14.5v, when the alternator only puts out 14v

Gotta stop looking at the 2012's otherwise my truck will end up fur sale!

It's good the axis looks just as good if not better on the new shape as the old.

I started looking 09 models, cause I didn't want anything too old, I found 3 SR5's locally that had between 60 to 120k's and the price was mid to high 40's, so went the brand new SR with stability control for the same price.

If I had realized at the time you can't legally modify a vehicle with stability control at all, cant even change brand or type of tyre,I would purchased the base SR
