Something unrelated... Which gave me another idea..
A mate of mine, who has an asphalting business asked me to fab up a diesel, cleaning tank for screeds and shovels on his paver. Bought a sheet of 1200 x 2000 x 2mm sheet which was cheap at $80 for the material. Had a crack at grinder notch folding the sheet tonight and came up with this.
The left over sheet.

and the tank.

Had to cut out the sides for the tank with the grinder and weld them in to seal it along with stitching up the folds with the MIG to make it water tight as the cutting disk did break through in a few spots.
Thinking of buying a sheet of 2mm stainless getting it folded properly and tig welding up a custom tank for the canopy.... :)

Hi Lift Jack mounted properly on the headboard.

Fabbed up a custom bracket to hold the end of the Hi Lift jack. This will be replaced with S/S.

Some drilled and countersunk studs through the side of the canopy.

Some pics of the studs to locate the base of the Hi- Lift jack.

nice work there mate. good use of that dead space

I was thinking I could use that space for a tank but the thinnest tank I've found is 100mm

Some more refinement of the space.
This will be movable divider but really happy with its placement at the moment.

Still trying to look at having a water tank in the setup.
Seriously looking at this.

and using a double acting hand pump.
Image
the jerrys run a 3/4 fitting in the bottom so running a manual pump should be OK. Looking at running food grade hose from Jerry to pump.

I had a jerry like that strapped inside my canopy for our trip mark. Worked very well. I just had a tap in the bottom of it and ran a hose out. A hand pump would be nice, I didn't get around to doing it.

Cheers,

Chris.

Seriously Mark.... a man with your capabilities?.... I would be expecting a 12 volt pressure pump with a boab tank built into the floor (COG purposes)and connecting through a heat exchanger (built yourself) incorporating gas element supplying both a tap at your kitchen and a shower head on the back of the canopy.
Don't disappoint us now. :D

Kyle. Did you know the reason why Alby had to update to a Landcruiser with a 1500kg payload?
He had the inside of his canopy tiled with expensive Italian tiles and a porcillian toilet and cytsern installed. His hilux could not cope with the weight anymore..

Few little updates.
Fabbed up some frames to hold the aluminium spread mesh in place and support the bottom of the top parcel shelf.
Also came across some great canvas shelfs from Bunnings to stow gear. They will also fold up out of the way if needed.
Image
Just drilled some holes into back of the parcel shelf and used some cable ties to hold them in.
Image
Image
With a bit of walking around Bunnings with a measuring tape, found some plastic containers that fit between the mesh.
Image
Should be able to put a plywood lid on top of these tubs so I can build it higher.
Cheers

You'll have plenty of time to get it sorted when you get back. Whilst your away it might give you some more ideas on how you want to set it up when you get back.

I took the advice and went the Oatley Bunnings boxs not that cheap after buying 6 @ 25 bucks each. They are effective though light weighted and interchangeable. Good advice - Thanks

I've decided to go the cheap plastic box option. Draws are nice and give a good finish but you are locked in and not the easy to modify. Plastic boxes are good for me as I can have ones setup for work and others setup for camping, its just a matter of swapping the boxes over to suit.
However, in saying that I now have so much room, I'm finding that I actually go looking for stuff to put in to fill the space..
