The project got put on hold for a little while due to no paperwork being submitted to the DOT which I thought was already done, so I redone all the paperwork and got the reply from DOT on Friday saying its all good!!!! To go ahead it will be classed as an ICV,
Work will commence next weekend

lol i know nothing further has been done due to reno's around the house im hoping to clean the shed up this weekend then i can get back into it

here is the gearbox cross member the arm and old engine mount are bolted in there cause the welds are cooling

this is the drive shaft i will be using front and rear its from my old comp rig they just need to be lengthened

here is the ls1 sitting in the bay engine should be mounted up this weekend

Yeah it actually a lot tighter than what the photo's show steering column will be very close to the headers so they will prob be a custom set

whats the width of the 80 chassis like compared to the luxes? would it be i tighter fit on a standard chassis?

Chassis width isn't an issue with the ls1 it's the hilux body especially the transmission tunnel, and it's not a case of simply lowering the transmission cause the Ls sump hits on the diff housing, I have got the shallowest sump of the shelf for the ls

Haha, I'm home all over Christmas mate not pulling the pin on this just have a couple of mounts to fab up modify the rear of the chassis and do new suspension mounts to get the gu diffs under it

Lol trust me I would of loved to keep the 80 diffs it would be a lot easier but I wanted more width without having offset and all the issues with bigger offset prob would of been easier with an 1uz too (smaller gearbox)

ok rear diff is in only thing left to do is make shock tabs which i'll do once they arrive from the states
