qldhilux's build

Postby qld hilux on Tue, 07 Jun 2011 7:15 +0000

Hi guys, just want to say I've learnt so much from this site and would like to share the build of my 05 auto D4D with everyone. Bought her about 18 months ago with most genuine Toyota accessories, plus a few other things like OME suspension, prado rims, airtec snorkel, dp chip, dual battery, poly air springs, nudge bar and spotties. But since then have done quite a few things, don't think my mates quite understand my passion lol.

and now... in the last few weeks I've installed MR diff relocation brackects and made bash plates to suit and also these side steps. I'll go into more detail next time.

these pics are really cut off plus I'm useless with computers, but just click on the photo to see it in full.

So here's what the cv's look like at full droop with OME struts and 10mm strut spacers. Not a good pic but you get the idea.

and making the new bash plate to fit and replace the standard one, made from 4mm plate.

Image

and the finished product. made a cover plate so the mechanic only needs to undo 4 counter sunk screws to get at the sump plug. I'll get a better pic of that.

I was thinking about making a few extra bash plates, but the ones Bud makes for MR are a bargain at $200 each including delivery and are top quality too. So I think I'll give it a miss. But thanks for the compliments guys I really appreciate it.
