2011 Dual Cab hilux steel tray Build

Postby searsy on Wed, 08 Jul 2015 12:42 +0000

Hey guys,

New to the forum and I'm loving it. I've just recently purchased a 2011 SR dual cab with a tub on it and am going to build a tray for it. I was hoping I could get a few pointers with where to start for example mounting points, height, width, allowable overhang and any other tricks or secrets that might help. I've never built a tray before so it's all pretty new. I will include photos along the way. I also want to end up building a 2 1/2" exhaust for it and also a bit of a lift wouldn't go a stray. Any input or experience with doing these mods would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Rito I've decided to build the exhaust first, building a 2.5 inch straight through from that flange behind the cats. From what I've heard and read on here it should be pretty good. Picking up the steel this arvo and will be building this weekend. I'll get pics of the build as I go.

Got the exhaust tacked up today but the argon for the welder decided to run out so it isn't welded yet. Here's a few pics.

Can't work out how to upload photos, can you upload photos from a phone?

Just wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience with DTE mapping chips? Do they just increase fuel pressure or do they actually increase torque and power with better fuel efficiency?
