Mines in the recall 07/07 Dual Cab SR5 D4D

Rang the local Toyota Dealer (Newcastle City) had no idea what I was talking about :? They will call me back (I wont hold my breath).

I'm with Noidea, wonder what else I can get done. Might talk to them about the noisy start up, sounds like a 1980's Daihatsu. :D :D :D

hmmmm.. dont think ill be 'rushing' to get mine fixed.. remember the bonnet recall.. it took the dealers quite a while to get it right.. they stuffed up a lot on the early ones.. Ill wait for a month or two after they send me a letter then do it..

Mine is in the recall too.

What was the bonnet recall, sometimes my bonnet is hard to open, the latch seems to be sticky or something.
its an 05 model.

Mine is also to be recalled...

I will take it in see what they say and do.

I might also get them to do the overnight cold start injector check. I have mentioned the noisy injectors at every service since the 20K one. Will probably just tell me it's normal like always.

the 05 was definately part of the recall.. if you open your bonnet do you have a large black steel plate running across from the striker ? check out the threads above...

Got abit more info....supposedly the area inquestion isnt the center bearing itself but the crossmember where the bearing bolts into....looks like where the bolts go into the crossmember is actually shearing off the crossmember itself.....

they alsio have two different fixes for it, one for everyday drivers and one for "extreme condition" drivers...not sure what the differences are yet.

Mine is affected May 05 build. This could explain the clunking sound I've had for a few months??..
Could anyone take a picture of said area so we can have a poke around?

Sounds like the cross member is the problem as mmaaxx said.
Corrogations and cattle grids, droping a shaft does not sound like something I want to do... :x :x
What are these vehicles doing off road anyway, must have come as a suprise to Toyota. :o
But hold on corrogations and cattle grids are on the roads arent they :?:
Takes more than some coconuts to break them but the seem to still break  Bugger
Now if they can fix the brakes, hand brake, clutch and possibly strut design we will be getting somewhere.

Mines infected also, will wait till next service in 5000kms and hit them up about cold start rattle as always. Aleady had the bonnet latch recall done and they scratched up my bonnet doing it.
