LPG conversion V6 4.0

Postby newlux on Mon, 12 Mar 2007 12:39 +0000

Anyone done this. Is it suitable. Will warranty be effected. How does it go?

Man the conversion is dear $4200 quote nsw/act. My Vx cost $2800 two years ago. I don't qualify for the rebate as the vehicle is salary packaged.

personally I would do the LPG if the vehicle is salaray packaged.....

deal with the expense the first year, and whatever you spend over the minimum required amount you need to out of your pocket, claim back the following year with tax free contributions straight into your account.

talk to your accounting or finance company about it. ;)

Have had an Impco SVI lpg system on my 4.0 auto sr5 dualcab for 3 weeks now. Couldn't be happier so far. No discernable difference in power at all. Am averaging 7km per litre in outer suburbia and 8km per litre on the highway. Will be fitting a flashlube setup just to be sure though.

Max, you got a good deal the way your employer looks after you. Problem I think for everybody else would be the way the acocuntants have to deal with it. The kit is too dear to expensed, and therefore is an addition to an asset, but the asset belongs to the leasing company not the employer, and the law basically says you can't add things to a leased asset cos you don't own it. You'd probably have to get it fitted at the time of purchasing the vehicle. Plus the finance company may not want to do it if it could affect resale.
