Just changed my fuel filter (2007 D4D) had trouble inserting new filter. Removed to find a rubber seal in the bottom of the housing, identical to the fat seal on top of filter. Does it belong and how, or has the last galah who was paid left a surprise for me?
Group 9 decision, the rubber seal in the bottom is a foreign body took it out and reassembled. All working well now. Anyone else have such an experience?
i took my filter out.... its done 170,00km and it was BLACK dont think the first owner ever had it changed, glad i did my own big service and found this
Hey guys just a quick question. I have googled it and can't find my answer. I have a genuine diesel filter that's been sitting around for over a year. I was going to install it on my 2014 model today but the one already in the car had a sponge bit on the bottom. The new, old filter I had from my previous rig doesn't have the sponge bit on the bottom. There is a slight height difference as well. The one that came in the car is slightly taller so I just cleaned out the bowl and left the original one in there. Does anyone know if there is different part numbers?
I'm gonna go Toyota parts tomorrow and hopefully they can help me.
