Instructions for changing diesel filter

I have done changing today. I added the following extra:

Once the pipe to the engine is removed. Cover both ends with kitchen wrap and rubber bands to prevent any chance of contamination
take out the bottom filter container;
use plenty of degreaser to clean out the sludge deposits;
check the floating switch working or not;
