Just be cautious, Toyota will not warrant the fuel side if anything has been added to the fuel.

Looked at using the Amsoil and spoke to the local Toyota dealer and they said no.

The sell diesel injection services that they use a u bute machine to do and they can not offer it on the D4D engines again from Toyota's advice.

SR5, be careful with the cetane boost. I heard that it wasn't designed for use in common rail engines. I emailed amosil and they said its OK to use.

I'm still trying to figure out if I should try it or not.

fuel conditioners

I've been using similar stuff in the UK for years, called 'Millers diesel power sport 4'.
Its an upgrade to the previous 'power plus' as its supposed to be ok for Euro 4 engines with DPF's.
One of the main reasons i started using it was many years ago they started drastically lowering the sulphur content of the fuel, and the sulphur was a good lubricant for the moving parts of the pump.
Many cases of premature injection pump failure followed this, and the Millers does have additives to replace the sulphur lubricant.
I've been running diesels for some 25 years now, maybe more and i've never had a fuel or pump problem yet, but i know many that have.
Maybe i'm just lucky, i don't know, but buying this stuff by the 5 litre can makes for very economical running.
My engine runs very quietly, it pulls well and no smoke at all.
The millers also raises the cetane rating of the fuel by at least 2 points at normal dosage.

Maybe worth a read up on their site to see if your getting as good as theirs is.

I have been using a product called Fuel Set. I get it from work. We use it in muti million dollar engines.. have not seen it fail yet... they are not common rail engines, but mine has not missed a beat since I picked up that water.. and the Fuel Set is good insurance. Cheers TOMUCH

On a more serious note I was priveliged to be given a sample of this and my D4d hasnt skipped a beat on it. The pre filter fuel bowl has been absolutely clean since it was introduced into the system.
Thanks

I just talled to a guy from a toyota service dept & he said that we shouldnt use any diesel addidive to our common rail diesels.
He said that was what toyota told them & even using the toyota genuine diesel addidive will clug it up.
He said the addidive is designed for the older diesels not the new common rail disels.

Anyone got any more information.
Max what you think
