Chemtech Diesel conditioner is apparently pretty good, kills algae etc.
I have also used the genuine Toyota Diesel fuel conditioner. I haven't had any problems with either product.

the fuelstar is a fuelsaver apparently. it releases small amounts of tin and stuff into the fuel and makes it burn clean and more power etc. have tracked down a guy with a 2.4 lux who recckons he saves about 10% on diesel, the smoke has gone and he has more power. another guy with a mitsi diesel swears by it and says his oil stays real clean for a lot longer. i might give one a go but theyre $400 odd bucks and 1 hr to fit into fuel line. will see if anyone else has used them on here first.

Have two different opiions from two different Toyota dealers on this very subject. Darwin dealer use an additive, not sure what type, never asked me to use it on my vehicle and charged me $20 (got that refunded). Went to another dealer on holidays in Tassie (Devonport) asked him about the additive, he said it makes the new engine noisy. Clears too much crap out through the injectors etc. Not completly sure of full details! Just thought it was interesting! Have to say my engine is noisy at times, sounds like a 50c coin bouncing around under the bonnet....

I walked into my brother’s work the other day there was a box of diesel fuel additive on the ground after reading one of the bottles I asked him “does this shit do anything". He raved on about this being one of the best products he has ever used.
My brother is the plant manager of a big construction company on Sydney harbor it’s his job to keep all the machinery in good condition.
He is always saying that our diesel in Australia is of such low quality.
Anyway he uses this additive in a new $30 million dollar crane from Japan.
So I thought I will give it a go I just put it in yesterday and could not believe it I could feel the difference it felt better off the mark and more responsive. I was not expecting to feel anything I also tested it last night by flooring it to see how much smoke I could see out the back none. Before when I floored it at night you could see all the smoke in the headlights of the car behind me not now.
At the moment it running better & running cleaner so let’s see how the fuel consumption goes I will do and average from 3 tanks of fuel and report back.
If it saves me enough fuel just to cover the cost of the additive I will be happy regardless of the fuel savings I’m hooked.
I do not know much about it at the moment I only know you cannot buy it from any store and that it is made in the states

when i floor it at night I can also really see the smoke in the rear vehicles head light.

How do you use the additive.
Do you just empty one bottle everytime you fill up

just found an nz supplier of amsoil and will give the diesel additive a go. price for 10 litres of synthetic oil for lux engine about 170 aust dollars. will have to read some good writeups to fork out that much. i have been using a canadian product called powerup for about 6 years now. it is awesome in hydraulics and engines/diffs etc and has paid for itself many times. always prepared to try another product though. dunno till u try!

Well Done SR5 2NV,

Should we approach him to do a deal for New Hilux members? I'll ring him if we get enough members who are keen?

That pack sounds the goods... so $39 to your door?

I wonder how long/how many tanks etc that will last?

Who is keen?

From what I am told/read black smoke is unburnt diesel. I'm no expert on this.. can anyone explain more?

cheers
