Just wonder whether the steering rod extension and drop bracket for the radiator are required as the rest of the parts are just blocks + bolts...

Looks good fellas but does the steering rod need to be extended and does the radiator drop brackets need to be bought additional to the blocks + bolts for a lift of only 1"?

There should be enough slack in the steering shaft yoke to safely lift 1" bodylift.

but up to the person fitting it.

Cool bananas, im looking at the radiator now i rekon it would need some sort of droppping bracket for the fan to clear the shroud properly tho....

Yes, Jack you summed it up. The problem is that there are a couple of things that are much easier to do at 2", like the tub override blocks and once you start chopping and changing how you make components, you loose efficiency. I did try making a couple of 1" kits early in the piece and it took a lot more time so I could not offer the option.

Hellbound, you really should address this so the shroud is kept intact fo efficient cooling, simplest way would be to grab one of my radiator kits for $66 and drill and countersink an extra hole so you don't need to stuff around having to drill and tap as well. Countersinking is probably easier than cutting a thread but you could do it the other way around and tap the hole if you can get your hands on a 7.25mm drill (which might not be as easy as you think).

Hutchy, best bet is to get one of my body lift kits that has everything in it including everything to extend the air inlet and vacuum line on your diesel truck as it was developed through this forum and has had lots of feedback go back into refinement. You can grab one to suit your diesel tray back here:

Thanks VMN, but i've actually gathered a set of bolts, made all the blocks and radiator brackets myself :) i was just wondering whether ya can get away without modifying the air intake and vacuum line or whether its crucial?

I extended the air intake, it won't stretch 50mm, it would be to much stress on everything. It is very easy to extend it. I used some stainless pipe, roughly 5 inchs I think. The air intake pipe has a perfect spot to cut and add hose clamps in. That's the only one I had to extend.

Hey guys I have just fitted a 1" bodylift to my truck with the only modification I needed to do was the radiator drop bracket as the fan just scrapes against the shroud occasionally. The steering rod wasn't an issue at this height.

This is just what i am looking to do very soon on my single cab. Was it only the radiator drop brackets that was essential at this height?

Yep pretty much but i did have to slightly adjust the fuel filler hose as well. No big deal though.

Not criticizing but I don't understand why you would go to all the bother and just do it 1 inch.
2 inches justifies it, and as Rodw makes the complete (radiator brackets steering extension etc )kit that's tried and proven Id recommend that way, as it is what I did.
Just remember that if you already have bull bars side steps and rear bar all these will have to modified as well and the inter cooler would benefit from a seal to your bonnet

That's why I was thinking one inch. Bar and steps won't look so far out.

Also the police won't be the wiser as a 1-2inch lift.

That's what I think anyway. Just putting the questions out there.
