Wheel Alignment

Wheel Alignment

Postby rsearle84 on Mon, 30 Apr 2012 11:02 +0000

I got a wheel alignment today and asked them to move front wheels forward like everyone say as to as I'm fitting 33s, after getting alignment done he advised me there is no forward adjustment unless I fit a caster kit....

Has everyone had to do this ?? I'm missing something .....

Had same problem, you have to get a guy who knows what he is doing. Sadly most of them can't even give you a normal wheel alignment :(

My mechanic told me, " when you get a wheel alignment, don't go to a tyre store." I said "why not?" he replied "because they sell tires" :)

I was just having a look at my hilux cause I changed rotor, I cannot see how the front wheels would be able to be moved forward, (I'm no mechanic) there does not seem to be any kind of adjustment, can anyone tell me where they actually get the movement forward from ?

The front lower control mount has an adjustment bolt through it.

Has anyone fitted an aftermarket caster kit? I would think it's probably better than chopping the mount if your 33s scrub like mine do.

I was thinking same thing! Sounds alot better than chopping mount, have to find someone who makes one ! The lower control arm on the tacoma is different I'm pretty sure !
