I just fitted a new suspension package yesterday, with EFS rear springs and shocks. The front is EFS springs and ironman struts. Can't rea;;y say much at this stage, but the drive home is nice and tight with minimal bodyroll.
I picked these for a few reasons, one being the specs of the front coils are more robust than most other springs, check out the suspension bible and the specs for all the srings are there.
Another reason was that Crosssport was running the same setup on his previous hilux and had no issues with them at all.... he owns his own mechanical business... so that was a good enough recommendation for me.
The guys who fitted my kit yesterday also had good words to say about what I had chosen.

The only problem I have is the spacer ring provided with the ironman strut is 15mm, which makes the inner boots on my cv joints just rub together. I have a MR diff drop bracket set on order to over come this anyway, so it was something I was expecting.

Give Crosssport a yell, he'll give you a honest opinion ( and possibly a better quote)

EFS = Tough as nails.

If you ask for heavy duty that's what you get. When I had my original EFS setup I could load green firewood in the back as high as gravity would allow and the rear wouldn't sag.

The only drawback is that the front struts are not height adjustable. That may not bother you but like noodle, I ended up changing my struts a few months ago to an adjustable one. Other than that I'm still running them 60000km later.

Just got the EFS 50mm lift set up
TPR 104e coil springs front.
EFS Elite struts and shocks on the corners.
2 Leafs added to rear and reset.
Rides great very happy so far, the front is firm with out been to harrsh and handles great got 17000kms on the clock also 3 year 100 000km warranty.

I was pretty pissed off that they werent included in the 4wd action shock comparo it would have been good to see how good they would of performed.

i got the same as you barraboy and im very happy with them, nice firm ride and very smooth over bumps and corrugated terrain, only problem was the 4wd shop that did them nicked one of the boots and didnt tell me,oil was everywhere in the wheel arch the next day, they then replaced the boot but didnt have the right tool to put the original toyota clips on and within days started leaking again, then the wheel bearing was stuffed and front wheel nearly fell off and disk rotor got a massive groove in it,they then fixed that and the boots are still leaking and the guy has been stuffing me around, hasnt called me back to fix the leaks,im very dissapointed and the ute was brand new when i took it to him,im afraid to take it back there, the ute is coming up to the 10000k service gonna get toyota to fix it and then give him the bill,i will never take it back to that shop im too afraid he will stuff something else

I recently changed my front coil springs from King springs KTFR-101 to EFS TPR-104E as the King had sagged about 9mm after 4 years on the Lux.

Decided to try some other brand even though I was quite pleased with the performance of the King coils.

The EFS TPR-104E has blown me away. My front has gone back to a true 50mm lift from standard and the ride is as good if not better than the King KTFR-101.

I chose the TPR-104E as it has 18mm wire diameter compared to the King KTFR-101 of 17mm.
The free height is the same for both at 375mm.
The spring rate for the TPR-104E is 650 lbs whereas the King KTFR-101 was 660 lbs.

The only complaint I have about the EFS coils is it's colour (black). Wish they had a unique colour but it's a minor thing.
Cheers

Yes, very hard. mine are constant 300kg rear leafs and 670kg of bricks does not seem to flatten it out much.

I put EFS gear in my lux about 3months ago.
I only really tested it a couple of days ago but with a lot of mud and the air lockers going the struts and leaves are still attached :geek: always a good sign!
If you do decide to go EFS make sure you tell the dealer what sort of load you are putting in your truck and where you are planning on taking it.

BTW they are soooooooo much cheaper than OME and as far as i can tell just as good!

Brendon.
The 18mm dia, 375mm free length is a good spring combo for a 50mm lift with some accessories on.
Same spec as the KTFR-101HD's

from what I understand ......it will unless you pack more spacers in the front and lose more travel.

I don't know how it affects braking proportions when you level them and I also heard that that you can have a 2"lift but cannot change the attitude of the car.

This is just what I have heard.... get confirmation :)
