I havn't been down that road yet but from what i've read on this forum is that you will need at least a 2" lift. Plenty of info to follow from others on this forum though.

Good luck

I was told that the 16x8's I bought off ebay would fit a new hilux, thou when I fitted them with the 285's they are close and had to do some mods to make them work.

With a 265, they would've been ok. They are a -5 offset.

I reckon you should get something between a +10 and the stock +30 that'd work well.

My mate had the Prado 17's on his hilux with 265/70x17 and I beleive they were the stock +30 offset and worked well.

Thou with the 8inch wide rim instead of the 7, you would need a different offset.

Ive heard of some shops that fit 285's with 3" lift that run 16x8's with a -12 offset.....dont know how that works coz thats 7mm more negative than mine and the tyre would stick out even more.

Yeah, messes with ya head. Theres a few blokes on here with the 16x8 and 265's that have worked, just send em a message and ask what they got.

:)

Mmaaxx , thanks for that .
Went into today and spoke to TJM , they guaerrtened that a set of Mickey Thompson DC-1 's would fit and not hang out . They have a -12 mm offset , 16 x 8 . They say that they with a set of 265/75/16's MTZ's would not hit anywhere . As i said , i am putting a 2' lift ( tough dog ) in . I'm just hoping they are right .
I just wish people would not bullsh1t to you if they don't know what they are talking about .

Anyone else running 2" lift , 16x8's and 265 /75/16 , that might be able to help me .

Rockman, you sound like you have written my script. Everyone you talk to tells you a different storey.
I have just ordered the DC-1 rim for my Lux but I dont get it for another 6 weeks. I have seen a set on and they do hang out just a touch. There are a couple of other guys on this forum that have the same offset and they will tell you likewise.
My conclusion on the whole deal is that unless you get a rim with a plus 30 offset everything else is just a varying degree of not fitting as well as it should but can be done anyway perhaps with some compromise.
I plan on running a 70 series tyre on mine as I dont want to change the rolling diametre too much as I am mostly driving in Sydney and concerned about the effect it will have on my loss of brakes. Perhaps this is not a legitimate concern?
On the internet you can be anything you want. It is strange that so many people choose to be stupid!

Hey rockman i'm running a -12mm offset procomp rim with 265/75/16's procomp xtreme m/t's very similar to the Micky t's look i to was told they would work and they do if you have a good 2" of lift which i do now after the forth attempt,I still get minimal rubbing on the passanger side but i mean hardly anything and in terms of sticking out they do a touch i have posted a pic of them sticking out somewhere on another post .
