Hey guys im new to the hilux world and I just recently got the sr 2010 4x4 hilux and I need to buy a set of flares as my new wheels stick out. Are the ute mart flares good and what size are the genuine sr5 flares 120mm or 160mm???

25mm wider sounds good. That would suit me perfectly. $600 is better than some of the outrageous prices that have flashed across this forum before.

Hi Leon from utemart.com, it has taken us about 12 months to make the 160high x 55 wide flares, hight is 160mm,the same as SR5 so will be compatiable with snorkels. profile looks like a genuine flare product. the flare sits 55mm off the standard SR guard and is 25mm wider than the genuine SR5 flare. looks better with SR5 mudflaps (will have stock of mudflaps at a good price in about 14 weeks). the front guard flare finishes with a 90degree return like genuine flares. bull bar need to be SR5 or wider. we are looking at making our own bullbar (input of style would be appreciated). the bumper flare has been changed to give more clearance from the front of the tyre, about 35mm. bumper need o be cut for this. they are made from plastic like our other flares and double sided tape seals like our other flares. smooth colour coded. ring me 0409203804 and ask me for a forum 10% discount on this product till end of september. flares in stock ready to go

Has anyone got a picture of the front 55mm wide flare meeting up with an ironman or non-flare arb bar? I have ironman bar which is wider than non-flared arb bar, but narrower than flared bar, i really want these wider flares for wider tread but i need to know if it would look stupid? Cheers

I have the 55mm flares on an SR with the SR bullbar. Looks OK from the side, looks silly from the front. But, it stops mud and shit flicking up into the car and all over the windows so I'll live with it....... unless someone drives into my bullbar so I can get a new one ;)

Hey mate I got a bullbar and the 55mm side flares and doesn't look to bad. But I ran mine without a bullbar and just a bumper and that looked different but after abit I think looked tuff. I can get a pick but it's not an Arb bull bar

Haha, yeah i'd reckon she'd be a bit easier to keep clean, not to mention wider tread would look pretty mad (which would prob make it just as hard to keep clean  ) but yeah, shame they dnt make ones that just taper in at the ends. haha Utemart are you listening?

THe other thing is i've got the white lux with a black bar, i wonder if the overhang would be less noticeable with black flares?

and bondy_007 did you start with the bullbar and then decided it would look better without it and just 3/4 flare? THat is a pretty tough looking rig :)

Did either of you guys, or anybody else run 285 tread with them flares, how'd ya go? what diameter tyre and lift if possible? :)
Cheers, Will

Mate I've only got an OME lift (1 1/2 inches if that) 31/10.5/15 so they're 265s I reckon the 285s would fit awesome. I only got the white ones because they didn't have black, might paint them yet and see how they look.... I reckon they'd look unreal. Black on white is sexy :D
While I've got them off (I took them off to fit a snorkel) I might go and see a fella not far from me who does plastic welding, he might be able to do a cut n shut on them.

Hey, I had the bumper on and just put on the 3/4 flare since u had to cut bumper to make the other bit fit. I think u will be fine with the bar it's nothing to big of a difference. They seem to be tapered in alittle.
When installing them u may wanna run a bead of sikaflex along the top since the sticky rubber is shit at best of times.

Finished putting mine on yesterday the front bumpers at so annoying to try line up. I defiantly regret the buy. That rubber stuff is shithouse my front wheel arch ones have basically all come off only thing keeping them on is the screws. They turned out alright but still not that happy with them.
