all good mick your spot on ;) . DaveO my 32 miss the bodymount by about 5 to 10mm i recon you might get away with getting another wheel alignment and putting more castor bringing it away from the mount.

Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar MTR. 265/75/16 on Gecko 16 x 8 black rims. with 0 offset. Only just fitted so don't have mileage info but they just scrub as I have not trimmed anywhere yet but it will be happening soon. Don't really make any road noise considering they are a MT. Feel good in the dry and felt solid winding up and then down a twisting range road in the rain recently. Stick out of flares about 8-10mm, just noticeable.

BRAND. Maxxis Bighorn

TYRE SIZE. 32x11.5R15

TYPE. Mud

SUSPENSION LIFT. 3inch front, 2inch rear

RIM SIZE. Infinifty 15x8 with 0 offset

WEAR, PERFORMANCE ON and OFF ROAD. They look great on my black rims. On road i havent noticed a huge difference to the at's that im running. Handle very well on wet roads which is great and feel very steady under braking. Had a bit of trouble balancing them though. Offroad they are great. I have attemted tracks that i would not even think of trying with all terrains. Great on steep climbs and got me out of some reasonably deep mud. Dont know about wear yet as they are brand new and i am only using them as a play set.

SUSPENSION LIFT: Front +2", Rear +0"

RIM SIZE: Mickey Thomson Sidebiters, Alloy, 16x8", 0 offset,

WEAR and PERFORMANCE ON + OFF ROAD: Didn't seem to make much of a difference on road, just a wider track over standard. Scrubbing issues at front on the mudguards but no big deal. Will trim mudguards to suit at later date. Very quiet, even at freeway speeds!

SUSPENSION LIFT.
2 inch lift plus trimming inside guards, flare and mud flap removed.

RIM SIZE.

WEAR, PERFORMANCE ON and OFF ROAD.
On road these are very quiet for a muddy, handle great cornering and in the wet very hard to slide out.
Off road those suckers throw mud up to the heavens.. very good self cleaning, very grippy on rock and mud. Also a great performer on the sand compared to my old bighorns thast used to dig in.
Only had them on a month so can't comment on wear.
These tyres are amazingly priced and I've only ever seen them on half a dozen trucks and one other newlux (06toyluxSR) can't really figure out why.. but time will tell i suppose.

On road these things became extremely noisey as they wore down. Sever scolloping on the tyres towards the end. Still had very good grip ( for a MT) right to the end. In the wet you had to be more gentle with the throttle.

Off Road , very hard to fault. I went any where and everywhere, mud, snow, dirt.. nothing fazed them. Self cleaning. I used to work in plantaion pine harvesting operations, and used to drive through seriously thick mud to and from the worksite. Whilst the direction wasn't always straight, they always dug through the mud and got me out.

I managed to get about 45000 km out of them before the noise became too much.
Just replaced them with Good year Duratracs so we'll see how they go.

A word of note. When I purchased the bighorns, there are two speed rating for this size. I got the "M" rating (130KM) which I didn't realise until it was way too late. I was forever mindfull of my speed on the highway, and watched my TPMS like a hawk, but never had any issues with them/

hey mate,
I've disposed of the tyres now, but from memory I still had about 4-5mm left on each tyre.
It was the noise that was killing me more than anything, and I wanted to get new tyres from the US before the AUS dollar dived again.
I probably would have gotten another few thousand km's out of them, but the time was right

Hi all,

Need some advice. Wanting to buy 33 inch tyres and put them on a 16 inch rim. Currently have a 2 inch lift.

I have had 265/75/17 on there and want to go 33's or 285/75/16's

Is it possible to fit a 33's or 285/75/16 on 2010 Hilux?

Thanks

davefuken try this thread,, but yes you can as long as you dont have the up graded brakes which require a 17 inch rim as Im led to believe viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3538&hilit=fitting+33
A 33 is the same virtually as a 285

Done just over 40,000km on them so far. Breaks traction really easy and in the wet I feel like a drift champion untill the front doesn't go where I want it too. In the dry I constantly hear the rear spinning as I turn right at intersections even with light throttle. They are a long lastin tyre as I have 8mm tread left. I been down to robe twice with them and didn't get bogged but did struggle to get up one very soft dune to get off a beach. They seem too strong in the sidewalls to bag out really well. I have driven on abit of mud but not much and I didn't get stuck but once I was in the ruts that was it was no getting out.

Even with ABS I have managed to lock the brakes up in the dry once. I won't be buying them again.

I run the 225/75/R16 version of these and have no issues on sand. In fact 95% of the 4wding I do is beach sand and I've never had to use more than one set of max traxx to get myself out (had 10 trips to the south coast of WA in 12 months tis year). I also go bush bashing to cut wood, loading up both the trailer and the back and have not steaked a tyre to date (luck??). They fit on the original rims and are the same height as the originals which I've retained one of for my second spare. I paid $220 fitted 18 months ago and have clocked up nearly 40km's on them. If you want your car to look flash don't buy these.

BRAND. Cooper Discoverer AT3

TYRE SIZE. 31" x 10.5 (~265/75/15)

TYPE. A/T

SUSPENSION LIFT. Front Ultimate Supension 2" lift (h/d springs + dampers to suit). Rear Ultimate 2" lift h/d leaf pack + dampers to suit

RIM SIZE. Stock Toyo 15" alloys

WEAR and PERFORMANCE ON + OFF ROAD - ~ 11 000km since fitting, 8000 of that on sand, gravel or dirt roads. No body mods needed (ECB winch bar on front). Feedback from partner who drove it on 4 week trip generally very good on all off road surfaces (but this was all in dry weather, no mud, no rock climbing), didn't need to use recovery kit once, gripped well on sand dunes (Googs Track SA) w. reduced pressures, but occasionally lost front and or rear on bulldust.

My impressions - OK on dry sealed roads, but have slow spongy feel on turn-in c/w Yoko Geolanders fitted previously. In wet, OK on hotmix but on crap chipseal stuff in the wet they don't take much provocation to lose grip - have had tailslides twice in 3rd going uphill  'Er Indoors loathes driving it on wet roads. Not too noisy, but supposed to be rotated every 10K, IIRC $280 a corner fitted. Would try something else next time as these AT3s not a significant leap over previous Cooper AT.
