The door seals keep everything out. theres no mud/water getting in there.

Then again those two conditions I try and stay clear off.

Yes, snorkel would help alot.

Yeah mud seems to find me as often as I find it :? Haha

with a bit of extra cutting 35's should fit alright. Haha maybe I should start looking at fatter 35's  haha

Once again Awesome stance Quikvl! Looks unbelievable!

How those bad boys clear the body mounts is far beyond me! I thought you'd have no hope

Identical size tyre on same offset rim that I've got bro, just bite the bullet and start cutting and bashing. You won't regret it!

Found a mate who will entirely relocate the body mount, and taper the firewall back a few inches. Would easily fit 38s with his set up. Will try to get some pictures.

He charges about 500 bucks for the process. But if you ask me, eliminating the clearance issues from the body mount would bring a lot of us a good nights sleep!

Thats moving the firewall back another 1.5"

You might be able to do that on the passenger side but you will struggle to get that much on the drivers side as you need clearance for the accelerator to maintain full throttle and not to mention a little extra room for the width of you foot.

else you'll be accelerating with the edge of your foot.

More info on the bodymount relocation.........ive been thinking bout that for a while now, but my main issue is the firewall itself not the mount.

Edit: As you move to a 35" tyre you will find more clearance issues with firewall due to the larger scrub radius and tyre diameter.

So max, in saying that, have you got yours to work 100%? With absolutely no scrubbing at all?

But you were pretty much 100% with the patrol rims weren't ya? Still firewall causing the grief? Or body mount as well?

It's probably not a safe option by any means if we take into consideration out precious CVs but do you think with a negative offset it's possible to set them up without limiting steering?

Imagine having full travel and steering on 35s

I have a dream!!

I was just curious stef, if them fuel wheels of yours are around 0, -12 sort of offset, why don't ya try find a 35 for em? Or is it just too hard to get decent 35's for 18" wheels? I see the add on eBay by the way, if I wasnt more of a chrome mag kinda guy I'd be buying em in an instant!

The thought crosses my mind to be honest, but an 18 is just to much rim not enough tire. It's one of my biggest regrets! If they were even a 17 id be keeping, but that's my cut off.

Can easily source a 35 to fit an 18 but just not the direction I want to take. Not to mention what a shame it would be to destroy a wheel set that costs what it did haha

;) no dramas, good luck with the sale mate, and good luck with the 35's!

I'm looking at buying claws and will do so when/if I ever decide on whether I prefer classic locks or DC2 wheels.

Anyone thought of going a 16x10 with a 35?
Cheers, Will

Yep, one of the reasons it's important to plan your build so you're not doing things twice!!

Yea ill be in the claw club too!!

without steering limiters the tyres were touching the actual chassis rail itself....not the mount, but the chassis rail.
(mount was trimmed)

limiting the steering stops this happening.

But the firewall is the next area of potential contact depending how much you trim/bash upon compression.

its all a comprimise

Going a neg rim offset gives a bigger steering arch and hits the body mount and firewall more.

Have a look into Tyres because I'm going to get rid of my claws because there a tad too wide. They measure over 325mm and if I got a 35/12.5 that was like 310mm and not a very square edge like a mtz I might have 100% clearance.

I'd rather be hitting my body mount and firewall then my chassis. They are at least somewhat manipulative however the chassis is not.

If I'm not mistaken claws on 15" rims measure like 10-13 mm taller than those on 16" wheels. You're still on 15" wheels Quilvl?
