With a 3" lift with 285/75/16 on -0 offset rim will this stick out past my sr5 flares ?

yes, I believe it will. maybe not the top of the tyre, but there will be a fair portion of it out

+10 is the standard offset for a 33. +15 would be better but really depends on physical tyre width

fwiw, I have Copper ST Maxx in 285/70/17 on +15 and they're mostly in the guards.
I also have after market UCA's to correct suspension geometry

with 285's you'll be right, with 305's it'd be close depending on tyre brand and actual width - assuming factory UCA's.

with aftermarjet UCA's sholdnt be a problem with 305's at all.

im going for a 305/70/16 Mickey T Claw on a +10 patrol rim
do you think they will clear the uca?
ive got the room in the guards for them
im running 285/75/16 and got a fair bit of room atm.

with my silverstones, they were 12" wide on a zero offset rim. I had about from memory2 fingers width to the UCA.

they are a BIG 285 and about the same as most 305's.

The Claws having large side biters, id say you would be borderline with that setup.

Id still be going ahead with it, if anything it;d very slightly rub on full lock only and get away with it in most other steering positions.

:o :o :o

You mustn't get much articulation look how close the tyre is to the tray tube and the front guard, or did you limit the up travel? I had 33-12s on standard suspension for a while with a trimmed body mount and it was fine for street use, it was a prob in the bush tho

Nah doesn't hit the tray. It flexes up inside the bar. Only just touches the inside of the arb bar on full flex..... But it's not a hilux. Lol

Thanks heaps max

yeah im just a bit cautious of getting them fitted and not being able to drive home haha

im running 285-75-16 bald buckshots atm
would anyone happen to know off hand is the 305-70-16 Mickey T claws are much bigger overall?
as we all know none are as big as they say
ive chopped and massaged my front guards but ive only got about 500mm of clearance from my back tyres to the tub as the rear is still stock :(

thanks

this was asked in another thread, but it belongs here:

SRFIVE wrote:Hi guys.

Just a quick question. At the moment I own a 2012 sr5. I'm running 16x8 0 offsets wrapped in 285/75/16 (33'') the vehicle is also fitted with a 2inch ome lift. After trimming all the necessary bits it still rubs the bodymounts on full lock. And quite bad when ggoing hard through some rough stuff. Especially under compression.

Anyway I decided to purchase 17 inch FJ cruiser rims to use as a daily and when I'm going bush I'll put the 16x8's back on. Long story short I read somewhere that you can fit a 33'' inch tyre on these FJ cruisers rims and it won't rub anything due to the +15 offsett. Is this true?

Andrew.

I have FJ cruiser rims with 285/70/17 ST Maxx. I have a 3" lift. I'm also running after market UCA's to correct geometry, but no diff drops.
While the tyres fit inside the guards, I am still getting slight contact at the rear of the tyres when turning. So far I have only removed the guards, but I'm assuming offroading will increase contact

They look awsome and only just touch, and i mean only just touch the mudflap. I may not even remove them it is so light.

Plenty of clearance on UCA's

And the whole package sits inside SR5flares.

hey Boxhead, nice work there.

don't quote me, but I believe you're successful with that offset because the KM2's are a narrow 285.
