I'm going to be running an xrox on the front to help the 285/70/r17s cooper st maxxs clear on the front but just worried about what I'm going to have todo with the back of the wheel?

I won't to be running either a zero offset or a P10 offset now to just find a rim either steel or alloy not sure what brands make them in that offset an don't really want to put a gu patrol rim on a new hilux

I've got the MR lift in the front running about a 3-3.5 inch lift
With tufflux UCAs

Am I heading in the right direction guys? Cheers

05 - 13 are the same mate apart from the bigger brakes and 17" rims and tyres

Your heading in the right direction

Plently of options in thoes offsets mate, just keep searching on the net.

Have you been offroad yet and fully compressed the suspension to see if it rubs?

Ok humour me guys. Is the real aim in picking tire size just making sure it doesn't rub when on the bump stops? So no matter how high you lift your vehicle it doesn't really make a difference does it. (Excluding body lifts of course) so essentially I should forget about wasting money on lift kits and lay some cash down on a hammer and a grinder? The UCA is probably still worth having though.
Or do we just hit the bump stops so rarely with big lifts that you can push the boundaries a bit?

Basically all this has come about because I trial fitted my cousins 35's off his patrol yesterday and fell head over tit in love with them and want them on ASAP. Now I've got a two inch body lift and I can buy the bump stop and maybe UCA. (And I know this is the 33" forum but 35" is just sooo good and I need advice from those who have tried) with body mount chop and pinch weld and taking into account the body lift, how far off 35's am I? Or should I just lash out on rekon and set to 4" and cruise round like that?

I've read Max's build but be doesn't (as far as I'm aware) have a 2" body lift.

Any help would be awesome!

Or point me to a topic that's covered it.

Here's some snaps just to inspire.

Bodylift will help with allowing you to run a more negative offset and clear the firewall a little more.

The larger diameter and bigger offset all decrease clearance and increase your turning arc.

By having.a bodylift and a more negative offset it will keep the tyre off the chassis itself at the rear more so with full lock. How much , I don't know. I know my tyre was touching on compression which is why I made some steering stops to minimize this from happening.

Don't be surprised if you need to "pursuade" the firewall a little with a hammer as I did. To be honest its not that hard, just gently tap around it with the ball end of hammer, upper firewall is single layer, towards bottom is double layer and stronger.

If you have a bodylift, then a full 4" height isn't required. Lower the suspension and benefit from more downtravel. Another reason why I kept it at 3" to keep COG low/stable and still have decent down travel.

UCA's will be a must, as much castor as possible will be needed.

One of these days I'll start a fitting 35's thread.

2-3 inch lift with the body lift, after market UCA and then just keep cutting and bashing until it works

How wide are you going? Have you got rims already? Offset?

Hope your not in a hurry though, 35's will suck some power and juice!

Cheers max!

So you reckon i can get away without cutting fenders max? I was thinking the smaller MTZ. Do you think the extended bumpstop is still a necessity? And I been tossing up zero or -12 offset. i think i remember you saying that you wanted more than the +10?

So, the shopping list would be: UCA's, possibly bumps stops, and maybe sway bar relocators?

Haha I think I need to park in a yard full of 35's and whip the suspension out an drive round on the bumpstops till I find an offset that suits!

If you hadn't done it mate I wouldn't be sure it could be done!

And yeah I'm really starting to realise lift isn't everything, nice aesthetics, but nothing really beats 35's with travel!

A fitting 35's forum would be the deal! I never thought is bother until I saw em on, hooked!

Will, just a side note mate- what suspension are you running? I think I can see a strut spacer in your pic??
Do you hope to use the strut spacer and extended bump stop and run 35s?

Well spotted!
the spacer was sort of my P Plater pov pack, whilst waiting for rekon funds. Yes it is a 20-odd spacer which gives me 40mm lift. With 2"Bl gives 90mm lift total.

Although I feel I am about to be to be told something I don't really want to hear? Haha :?

They seemed a cheap solution at the time, but I have heard a few horror stories and I will admit it wasn't the most well thought out buy....

And thanks for the input Mitch. I reckon the MTZ 35/12.5/16 which is approx 34.5x 11.9 I think. And yeah 0 to -12 offset. Pretty willing to bash inner guard and chops etc but trying to avoid fender cutting so I can through some of them jungle fenders on.
And a re gear will be a necessity. It won't be a quick project as I'm not on an impressive wage (yet) But I'd like to map of all out first so I don't waste money on things I don't need.
Cheers, Will

You'd probably look at the -12 to fill out the jungle flares, im not 100% sute, but I think you can trim your fender underneath the jungle flare for more clearance.

Oh really? Cause that is a bit of a key issue really. I wonder how hard they are to adapt if ya do trim fenders? Wouldn't think it would work. May have to either go 33 or rubber flare and 35

Hey lads, quick question.

Will a 13.5" wide tire fit on a 8" wide rim? Will have a balloon effect?
