Fitting 33'' tyre thread.

Need something to get you rolling?

you can fit 37's if your willing to cut and chop enough.....

what Im basically saying is yes, they will fit if your prepared to do the mods required to make them work properly....

Height isnt everything.....height dont mean squat when you are still going to achieve the same amount of compression.

Clearance upon compression is the deciding factor and will dictate if your tyres/wheels will work or not.

Have a read through the thread mate, it is all covered.
3 inch is enough, all depends on rim offset, width of 33's and what your willing to chop

3" is plenty.

im running a 33" tyre 12.5 wide and i have plenty of room. Infact my front struts have sagged a heapppps so wouldnt suprise me if they were at 2.5" atm. Considering all this it all come at a price. Running a 12.5 tyre i did have to chop my mount and do lots of bashing in the inner plastic gaurds to get everything has flat as possible wih minimum objects sticking out for more room.

its a gamble. I settled for it and id never look back the extra room you gain from a 33" tyre is so worth it. From wheel size is the truth BODY clearance fro gaining room underneath with a bigger tyre size. When i was running my 32 my car waa on its belly and it made it hard 4wding...slamming on objects etc.

settle for it you wont regret it

cheers

seeing as they're a narrow tyre, does anybody know how 285/70/17 KM2's would go on +15 rims?

it's only a 7.5" wide rim so the 285 is too wide for the rim.....

sorry Helmut, but I believe that is incorrect ie. Cooper says they're ST Maxx in 285/70/17 will fit a 7.5" rim. (BFG website is currently down, so I can't check their specs)

as stated in previous posts, the biggest issue with 33" tyres is the rim offset. You need somewhere between 0 and +15 (depending on tyre).

Micks technically right, thou I believe there are rare exceptions to the rule. I think mtz's allow you a 7.5" wheel for this tyre. Happy to be coorected, but do remember it was the case a few years back. Also one of the procomps which are only 11.1" wide in this size.

Having said that some yanks have run 315/75x16's on fj rims aswell.

In the end its always a compromise.

I've read through most of the pages an haven't found anyone putting a 33" on a 2012 sr5 yet

I'm going to be running an xrox on the front to help the 285/70/r17s cooper st maxxs clear on the front but just worried about what I'm going to have todo with the back of the wheel?

I won't to be running either a zero offset or a P10 offset now to just find a rim either steel or alloy not sure what brands make them in that offset an don't really want to put a gu patrol rim on a new hilux

I've got the MR lift in the front running about a 3-3.5 inch lift
With tufflux UCAs

Am I heading in the right direction guys? Cheers

I have finally moved from 31x10.5 on 15x7 SR5 wheels to 285/70/17 on Dick Cepek GM7 wheels :D
They look awsome and only just touch, and i mean only just touch the mudflap. I may not even remove them it is so light.

Plenty of clearance on UCA's

And the whole package sits inside SR5flares.

Love em

Speed o is now reading 92KPH when GPS says 100KPH.
