Quick question, im going to get a set of 16x8's, for my 265/75/16 KM2's, if i later down the track wanted to put on 285/75/16, What would be a good offset, dont want to have buy another set of rims with different offset for bigger tyres. Getting the full Rekon kit to go aswell. Cheers

in a 16x8 the only ones I know off are Patrol factory steelies.

in 17x8 you can get Dynamic D-Holed steelies.

I'm pritty sure i read it right but doesn't matty from MR sell 16x8 infinity rims with +20 offset? would these suit 285/75/16s also with the MR Stage 2 kit? Also the more + offset the less need to trim?

cheers scott

yes we can supply infinity wheels in this size.

But I wouldnt reccomend a +20.....its a tad not enough for a 285.

some have run them but it depends on overall tyre width. rubbing on UCA when turning if one problem and touching the chassis rail itself not the mount at the rear is another.

that extra 10mm makes all the difference with clearance.

+20 will rub on swaybar at the front of the tyre and chassis at rear when on full lock

has anyone had a lack of power when taking off on hills or in sand in a 3lt diesel since fitting 33's?? like its going to stall on hills and you have to rev it more or ride the clutch more??

Yeah that comes with 33' tyres. Think of it as an added bonus. It just means you have even more of a reason to modify your ute with things like diff gears, chip, exhaust, sprint booster etc

do gears with 33's ideally....the improvement is awesome and gets the power back into the right rev range and then some.

So Could barely find any 16x8+10 offset patrol rims, so going to get some 16x8 with zero offset, in black dynamic rims, to put my 265/75/16 km2's on. This will be fine with the monster rides kit..........pretty sure it should be, just need a few answers to make it totally bulletproof...

265/75r16s are considered 32's....... and most of this info isnt relevant because they dont pose as many dramas as 33's

You need 285/75r16s (33's) to get the most out of this thread.

P20 rims will rub lightly on full lock... but you wont have to chop the guards at all, provided you get a good wheel alignment

Yeh meant to add a bit more to that statement, meant to say is 16x8 zero offset alright for 285/75/16, not (32's)....my mistake

Really, they are everywhere. Jump on the Patrol forum, usually plenty to be had. I picked up a set of 5 with tyres (33" AT somethings with bugger all tread) for $180.

All the gorey details are in my build thread.

Assuming you have read through the thread viewtopic.php?f=41&t=7273&hilit=bodymount ....I opted for amitch888s version of it, by cutting a deep V from behind the existing face of the body bout and then knocking the face back (away from the tyre) and re-welding it. I have had people look at them and they look stock, unless you compare them to a un modified vehicle.
The first one took a bit of stuffing around, but have the net nearby to compare some distances in photos to cut back to and you will be fine. The second was a lot quicker
