I agree, good spot for weight distribution, as long as you don't put the hose in it to fill up and wander off and forget about it

Not sure mate, they are sourced from opposite lock.....I'd be keen to know which of them if any would firstly fit before chasing up any prices from them.....

You reckon you can do some rear seat void volume measurements for us Steve? no rush mate, whenever?

Yeah.. i can have a go.. dont know how perfectly accurate it'll be as you know its very difficult to get behind the seat when its closed.. (any thoughts on getting the measurements you want?).. but I can see my truck sitting in the parking lot out the front (covered in mud), so i'll go and have a looksee later on..

thanks steve.....

well if we go for the smaller of the two tanks (40 litres)I posted on the previous page, its dimensions are 1090 wide x 670 high x 70 deep.

So I guess we would need the depth at the bottom/base to the rear of the cab, the width between the wheel arches, and maybe see how high up you can go with atleast 50mm depth and hopefully we get atleast 670 like the tank has, even thou it may be a tad thinner. we could atleast have a base point and get someone to make one if need be. if the one mentioned earlier doesnt fit.

cheers steve.

Mmaaxx/Steve

Neither of those tanks will fit,
height to bottom of seat hooks =565mm
width between seat hooks =990mm
if the mob that make these tanks see behind a modded seat maybe they could make one to suit,
definitely the market if they know that the seat mod can be done and allows for a tank of decent size.
The space would allow maybe 1100mm long x 500mm high x 60-80 mm deep(depth is the issue can't accurately measure this) and brackets to secure to rear wall
Do you know who makes them and where are they located?
i will volunteer if around SE Qld if they are interested

Cheers Drew

hmmm... yes you're right.. not going to fit without some structural relocating.. so not an option unless they could make a smaller one..

Hi Guys,

Check out this site:

http://www.yana.com.au

They make similar units but will also custom make to whatever size.....certainly if there were enough interested for a group buy it would be worth it.

I have on of their 80ltr tanks & the quality seems to be as good as the other brands on the market.

Hope this helps.

Looks like this thread has gone offtopic a bit

But the back seat mod is great, as good as the annoying chimes mods.

Well done, and thanks :D

Cheers

Just did seat mod, works great! If you intend using child anchor points on floor behind rear seat, I think it might be a good idea to attach a catch-chain or such. It looks like the hook on the bottom of the bracket (the one that gets cut off) is designed to catch the seat-back in extreme cases. Seat-back would otherwise fold down onto base allowing anchor staps, and child seat, to move forward. May be 1 in 1,000,000 but worth looking at?

How does the rear seat detach to start the mod or is it a matter of unbolting the whole setup?

Just undo the 4 mounting bolts (2 each side at pivot point, 12 mm spanner) lift seat back until it contacts hook ('08 model) push seatback gently as required toward rear of vehicle while still lifting, one side at a time or two person job would make it easier. Make sure you unhook base from floor b4 trying to lift. If you cover the latch pin on floor it will stop the base locking while removing.

mmaaxx,
I think this tank would be very close to fitting and only $225 inc. Drew, could you have a measure up please.
