Mine came with the drain holes already in at the top, I haven't notices any induction noise at all.

I didn't notice any hole , is this at the bottom of the air cleaner box? I will have a look this weekend, also the instructions were quite comprehensive and there were no mention of sealing this.

I guess as long as you dont stop in water over the bonnet it wont be a problem.
