I also don't carry weight through the week, I thinking about the new Ultimate Suspension comfort kit, apparently they have fitted up more than a dozen 2016's, any one fitted it to theirs yet ??

Hi Guys,
Finished the install of the Dobinson MRR suspension kit,I would have killed for a hoist in my shed.
The kit was very good everything required, only thing I need is Sway bar relocation brackets, I had the strut pre-assembled set at 2” lift with heavy duty C59-350 springs, rears are 100kg constant load L59-174-R springs
Normal install, apart from some minor things, the items below would have good to know up front to some save time.

Left hand rear spring pin needed to be cut off or the fuel tank needs to be removed, make sure you have a sawsall or multi tool to cut the bolt. And spend the money on new Grease able pins to replace the cut bolt.

Rotate the rear shock canisters 90degrees to the outlet coupling then they fit well. you have issues with wiring harness on left side and exhaust on the right side.

I have mounted the front struts remote canister in inside the guards of my Bull bar. Mounting on the Body or chassis would be a challenge, without drilling tapping into the chassis, the body is too thin and would eventually crack with the single bolt mounts supplied.

Grease your rear left hand shackles upper grease nipple before installing Auto light levelling upper switch.

Before lift/After lift
Front/left 742mm/808mm
Front/Right 750mm/803mm
Rear/left 807mm/867mm
Rear/Right 807/862

Fitted 265x75x17 BFG KM2 on 17x9 x +30 offset small amount of scrubbing on the guards i'll fix this with an alignment.

So your telling me you had to drop the fuel tank to remove the left hand leaf pack? Do you have an aftermarket tank? Also a bit lame that the kit doesn't come with model specific chassis mounts for the reservoir or swaybar relocaters!

Toyota fit the spring bolt from the inside of the bracket, once the fuel tank is installed you can't remove the bolt.
I had new pin so I cut the bolt to save removing the tank. It is the original fuel tank.

The kit is still a bit hard in the back, but I have come from a Prado with remote canister Blilsteins and soft Springs on the Back,
This is my First Hilux and I don't know how comfortable a leaf Spring rear end is going be.
I have put my toolbox and fridge in the back to load up some weight.

Are your wheels still inside the guards? and can you coil spacer the front to level it out or are you gonna carry weight in the back?

The tyres are just out side the guards 10mm to 15mm, I will fit flares just haven't seen engoungh information to decide which ones, the front struts are adjustable, I'll let every thing settle for a week or two and then adjust the front.

Well got a start on the bp51 kit sarvo, will finish and test tomoz. Great kit comes with everything! As Scottmiscar said you will have to cut the left front leaf bolt or drop the fuel tank, what a bloody joke! Luckily I'm putting a bigger tank in it anyway. Couple of pics of the lit and the front end. ImageImageImageImage the correct tool for the job!Image

To allow the swaybar to move forward enough and down slightly. Am sitting in it now at a servo about to test drive, so far its sweet.

Yeah I think once you move the swaybar forward as much as they have it must hit the factory ones.

Just got the OME nitros put in today. Gives a good 60mm over standard front lift with an expected 10mm sag. Rides like a dream compared to the standard suspension garbage.

So the rear end gets sorted and settles down with the OME kit? I can't stand the standard suspensions' jiggly ride on poor country roads. Worse than my old truck. And you get a true 50mm lift :D

Why did you buy a ute then ?

LOL.
Nice guys. That tool is pretty good for doing springs. It's all you need for doing struts.
Looks good.
