Matt
this looks tthe same as one i have fitted to left hand side of my 06 SR
There is a issue with Cv outer boot because boot is physically bigger than original it rubs on strut leg when on full lock
will be keeping my eye on this

great work matty....i reckon your onto a winner with this mate...no doubt it may need some asjustment if there are any clearance issues before final product due for sale, but its great having a better/stronger local alternative for the members to buy if in case their shafts ever do blow.

bit more peace of mind with extra strength, plus the extra travel has got to help in situations where on full droop the stock cv's may bind.

you the man, always going out on a limb for us here!

well done matty, so great to have blokes around like yourself that are willing to go out on a limb for the smaller proporsion of hilux users. Let us no when you have sorted a price.

So far havn't been able to fault my cv's but if the time comes, i'll be taking 2 haha

Hey Drew,

Do you have some photos of this left CV?
Also where did you source them from?
And price if you don't mind me asking?

Considering a new CV from Toyota is over $1000, we will be well under this with our pricing.

So far in testing we have had no issues with the boot rubbing the strut leg.... but we will keep an eye on this. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks Mate, we are very much looking to make Monster Rides a "Hilux Specialist" so these products that we are working on developing will help make this happen.
We will still cater for other models of 4x4's... but the Hilux is easily the biggest seller, and the most modified as well so it makes a lot of sense... plus they are the best trucks!

Slowly getting there, just need a more time and money!!

I think for anyone going away on a big trip, keeping one of these, or 2 as spare will be a good idea. If and or when the stock CV's break whack these in. Or alternativley swap them and keep the originals as spares.

I should have a set ready to test on my truck in a few weeks, but as my truck has the Ultimate Suspension drop bracket the CV angle isn't that great on my truck.
If anyone is interested who has a lifted truck with a decent angle on their CV's would like a set to do some testing with I'll pass them on a set of these bad boys really cheap... MATES RATES for the help with testing. Drop me a PM if your interested.

Cheers
Matt

Man I'm tempted.
A run from the East coast to the West via the Flinders, Anne Beadell Highway, then Gibb River Road and Kimberleys, down the Tanimi, Plenty Highway, Outback NSW... 12000km all up over 4000 in 4WD all in 6 weeks.
That should be a test of your new product
How many sweeties have you got in the pot :?:
I've been on a bit of a spend lately, cameras, GPS, head units, holidays it goes on and on.
Mrs woman is going to cause me great pain and suffering

they are not weak cv's...they are damn tuff except when abused in the wrong situations....you gotta know how to look after them, they are alot stronger than previous shape hilux cv's....thats where I think the hilix IFS got its "weak cv" reputation from.

Easy mate if you have a front wheel in the air be easy on the throttle and if you have a front locker only engage it when you are going in a straight line.
Like maxx said they are strong, i only broke mine in a laps of concentration and didnt want to get stuck on a 4wd action photo shoot with my mate in his patrol lol my front locker was in and full lock on the steering and too much right foot and the sand pushed the tyre onto the swaybar !!!!
So if you lift a front wheel off the ground dont let it spin up too fast and hit the ground, and go easy on the right foot when turning hard in 4wd.

Exactly what Drew said....but Id add one more thing.....when offroading, in situations where you've lost forward momentum and the vehicles begins to "bunny-hop", back off the throttle straight away...actually try and avoid the situation in the first place.....you cant just thrash a hilux and expect it to survive, regardless of the unbreakable slogan attributed to them.

Use your head when offroading and they'll be fine.

RCV work only on a changeover basis, they pretty much mod the existing factory shafts....these one Matty has organised are brand new, bigger and stronger...plus they are local, not from the US.
