D4D Engine

Does anybody know why the Prado has 1kw less but a heap more torque than the Hilux. Also, could you drop a 5 spd auto into the Hilux as well as the D4D engine from the Prado?

your right old rev....if you want the d4d in the hilux to go, just chip it and exhaust it.

the prado does have a few items that are different, but toyota has spent ages in development trying to achieve those number reliably...you can almost guarantee the next hilux will have the current prado's engine and 5 speed.

you could swap the 5 speed over, but you would need the ECU from the prado that had the same lower spec d4d and the 5 speed auto to make it all work.

end of the day, big cost, but anythings possible.
