rear diff buggered

Postby Benny on Tue, 08 Apr 2008 4:23 +0000

hey groovers, thought you blokes should know that i have been hearing a slight winding noise in the rear of the lux over the last month or so , i took it up with the local dealership and to no surprise they blamed it on my tyres. taking no for a answer i took it to another dealership and demanded that they hoist the thing in the air and listen with a stethascope around the diff casing.he came back into the waiting room not 5 minutes later telling me that they were ordering the parts to do a full diff rebuild under warranty. the lux has only done 39000k with no towing ever done just bloody steep hills up the bloomfield track, any how i guess the moral of the story is dont take no for an answer when it comes to car dealerships......

I've done the Bloomfield track a few times now....the Creb I have also done. I don't think the hills on them would cause a problem to your diff, maybe it was just faulty to begin with mate.

yes the hills are steep and we do drive it on a weekly basis but the diffs shouls withstand them and we generaly dont have to much wait in the car...do you know of many people that have had the same problem?
