High Beam Staying On

High Beam Staying On

Postby wazzadxb on Thu, 29 Jul 2010 3:31 +0000

I have been working on installing some new driving lights to 06 SR, should have been easy job.

If I had followed instructions here first, would have helped.

Problem is when I put High Beam on, I get both High and Low Beam at same time, when i return to low beam the High stays on.

I can RESET it by using high beam flicker on stalk.

Is there a relay located somewhere, or likely to be inside stalk.

The driving lights are not actually hooked up to anything yet, job for another day.

Cheers

the relay you have added to switch your lights is holding in due to the fact their is no relay on the headlights its the energy coming from the high beam filerment that is holding your relay on.
Most after market kits include a rectifier to stop the back feed happening. You took the high beam signal from the Highbeam globe so when its on low beam there is enough back feed to hold the relay in .
Just read the dates on the posts ,I was done over by a spammer.
