Antennas

HEy All

Has anybody changed the aerials that the Hilux comes with? I find the reception that I get from my aerial to be crap so was considering changing it. Also don't like the type they come with anyway. Have you changed yours? Did it improve your reception? What did you go for?

Cheers
Chris

Chris, I though tthe antenna was pretty good. Might be a problem somewhere. Not that there is much that can go wrong with the antenna, so it could be the head unit. Maybe compare notes with a radio in a nother rig at the dealer. You might be able to get an amplifier, I know Jaycar sell a kit for about $20, not sure if they have a prebuilt one.

How do you know it's not the radio, we loose radio reception a lot of the time when traveling.

Doubt very much if it was the antenna causing problems.

Don't know the shark fin one, but my "Coat Hanger" one works in town, get a little out of town and it has a few issues, but I'm guessing I know what the problem is. Just sick of the carpark bandits so I go the more affordable option and it aint been touched.
