Yeh I am a lot happier now - I hate it when you read through long posts and they do not bother to come back and say what resolved the problem.

Looks like these new vehicles may cost me a bit more to repair in future, as it looks like there are some things that are hard to do yourself. I must check again but when I am out west in an isolated area and the vehicle computer dies, if there is a way to get it going. I recall at my mates workshop he had about a $100 box of wires etc to get broken down vehicles going that had electrical problems. I must check it out but not sure if it was for computer vehicles or pre-computer vehicles.

Thanks for this, I had the same problem, took it Toyota Keridon in Brisbane, and told me nothing was wrong with it but turns they were wrong, changed both of the sensors and now my Hilux work great. So thanks for this post. :D

O2 sensors should really be looked at getting changed at 80,000 km or not too much longer as that's when they start to deteriorate and give false readings leading to poor economy. Engine earths must also be in good nic with little resistance and bad earths cause many troubles with engine sensors that operate with such low voltages
