Yeah I saw that the other day. Bloody teasers. It doesn't give you anymore info or pictures than you can find anywhere else. Gives me a tingle in the tossil though..............

Looking at the FJ on the Toyota USA site and as a factory accessory are rock rail (sliders)....... almost fell off the cough..........Imagine if Toyota Australia offered that

IMO they should look how well the Rubicons sell with factory rock rails, lockers sway bar disconnects, 4:1 t case standard oh and a solid front axle. Hrmm then again being an IFS with rock rails they will sell well due to the Toyota badge

I actually do like them and look forward to seeing the one Twisty will no doubt one day own and modify 8-)

Seen it in person

Postby Hilux Max on Tue, 30 Nov 2010 9:28 +0000

OK,

so Ive seen the very first FJ in person in OZ.

First impressions.......

It is a bit smaller than what I expected. The pictures of the FJ and its shape make it look big in photos online but that is deceiving.

Come with 32's....or just under. 6speed auto and V6.

rear diff lock and traction control.

Theres room for 3 kids in the back...adults would be abit squashed but can get buy.

The interior is very similar to a Jeep Wrangler when you sit in it but Id say abit more roomy.

Conclusion....depending on price.....I want one.
Thou I wont be making the same mistakes again if I go ahead with it and it will be sent straight to Buddy's workshop if I do.

All depends on FJ sale price and what I can get for mine....so if anyone is interested in a Virgin Hilux ;) PM me.

Toyota Australia website still reckon's 137 days till launch?? Is that right Max?

You would hope they have a starting price of under 40K as it is mid size and lower spec than current 3dr Prado.

Wife needs a new car soon so here's hoping.

I personally cant see these selling that well here! like others have said you either love them or hate them.
With the current economic position a lot of people are in there only going to appeal to a niche market.
I don't think we have the population here to love them, most people i have spoken to don't like them at all.

Why not go a 70 series V8 cruiser wagon with a live axle and mod it. They look real tough with all the goodies. Saw one at the rifle range on the weekend and was impressed what can be done, no need to SAS it either.

But the extra $30k that the 70 series would be to buy would go a hell of a long way on modding a FJ
