In the process of building a some swingaway arms to fit onto my Formula Offroad rear protection towbar.
I begged and pleaded with Kaymar to sell me the arms from one of there 80 series landcruser to save me some of the hassle but was quoted a $1000 a side....
Started off buying a trailer axle. For $100. I could have bought two stub axles for $70 each but figured I could save bit of money any just cut the complete axle to the length that I needed.
After the axle was cut to length I measured the holes and drilled them using my milling machine. Got the spacing spot on.
Using U bolts I have managed to work out a way to secure the post to the rear protection bar.
Will be counter boring the holes and extending the thread on the U bolt to have the nuts recessed into the axle. Hopefully I can find some sort of rubber plug to cover the hole so it looks nice and neat.
The next step is to copy and machine a hub to accept the bearings onto the post.
Cheers
