Replacing Head Gasket on 4.0 V6 1GR engine

i have blowen a head gasket in my 07 hilux and i have chosen to replace it my self . i am wondering if anyone has had experience in doin this befor and wat i am up for lol i have not had to much to do with the new engines as i have always had unbreakable land cruisers .... just give me your thoughts and i will note anything i feel is important as i proceed in doin this pain in the ar$e job.

any ideas on how or why the gasket blew ?. do you have compression in the cooling system or water in the oil ?
didnt mix genuine coolant and green glycol be chance , seen the results of that
. the whole front timing case needs to be removed to access the timing chain ,tensions etc.
not done it physically myself (never seen a 1gr head off in the 9 years theyve been in oz). have seen 2 or 3 timing cases off in a prado for a crank position correlation issue when the timing chain was over stretched. and had a trd hilux where a small timing case bolt fell out and caught behind the harmonic balancer and chewed out the cover.

not a job for the faint hearted i would suggest- do you have a workshop manual ??

Id seriously get a Mechanic or Toyota Service too this ! unless you know what your doing you could end up with a very sick LUX !

thanks . i can not find a manual any where for it. i havw had a bit of mechanical experiance but yeah it definatly looks like a sketchy job ... i will let use know how i go ... cheers

thank you .. i have decided after much thought to book it into the mechanical shop at work (all four x 4 spares kotara ) because it is not worth getting it wrong ...hope fully i have not done to much damage and i will be able to keep motoring on .
